Dear forum readers,
I am glad to have discovered this forum, I figured there would be a thriving community surrounding pedal building. I have only ever made 2 improvised "pedals" in the past (both passive and not very effective): an ABY switch and a bass-contour box (inverse guitar tone control on the floor). I'm looking for a new hobby and was astounded by the amount of circuit designs available here and my hands are itching to pick up the solder iron again.
I immediately have a question! I wanted to pick something relatively easy to start with, so I chose the B.F.C. (Keeley comp) from the main site. I understand most of the basic symbols, apart from 2 or 3 (two are similar). These are the boxes: "VB", "VC" and a circle with "pin" in it (see figure). Am I right in thinking that "VB" and "VC" stand for all points to be connected to eachother? What about pin?

pin is an artifact from doing the layout in eagle. You can ignore it.
Vb should only connect to other Vb
Vc should only connect to other Vc
Check out the Etcher Paradise (http://www.madbeanpedals.com/EP/), it just went up a little while ago and has a bunch of great projects with schematics and layouts. If you're just starting out, maybe try one of the projects with the noob difficultly.
Those pins are for the actual I/O pads on the PCB. On MBP layouts, you will usually see them for input, output, ground and for the LED indicator.
