Title: Road Rage w/ 4.5V output
Post by: cajone5 on December 31, 2017, 02:34:48 PM
Is there a way to modify the road rage to output 9v and 4.5v?  Trying to rehouse a dano pedal and would like to use the road rage to provide the 9v power and a 4.5v power source to replace the switching board...

If you only need 9 and 4.5 volts, the road rage is not a very practical place to start from. Just build something on vero with a voltage divider, regulator, or a rail splitter like the TLE2426.

I would use the voltage divider like in your schematic. A TL2426 works good if you need +/- each half of the supply (9v = +4.5, G, -4.5)

You could also use an adjustable regulator (LM317) and calculate the correct resistors (use a trimmer) to get a perfect 4.5v.

I guess I'll just slap a piece of vero in and create the voltage divider shown in the upper right. Should be pretty painless and I could even use it to simplify other stuff (e.g. have it hold the CLR for the LED).

Thanks for the comments... I think I was trying to make it harder than it has to be  :-X
