Title: What transformer is this?
Post by: zombie_rock123 on April 16, 2018, 12:44:00 PM
Probably/definitely a really dumb question here but what kind of transformer is this in the picture?

I've searched for "Step up transformer 1:10" so I can filter by the appropriate results regarding usage but I can't seem to find what I'm looking for ???

Transformers are bi-directional, so a step-up transformer is a step-down transformer turned around.

If you want one side to be 12 VAC and the other 80 VAC, the ratio is the same as 18 VAC to 120 VAC. So you should need a transformer that is normally sold as wall power to 18 VAC secondary.

What reddesert said, and mind your current (amps) requirements.
