Title: 1590G Love Squeeze Layout Question
Post by: mjcyates on July 02, 2018, 03:20:17 PM
So I did a 1590G layout for the Love Squeeze compressor. It works great, no problems. The only issue is the 100 uf electrolytics that I have on hand are not fitting in my layout. The low profile ones are too wide and the other ones are too tall. So, I either need to change my layout which I don't really want to do or I need another option for the 100 uf capacitors. I was thinking of going with Tantalum or if any of you know of an electro that is skinny and short that would be the best option. Any ideas would be appreciated.

Here is a pic. The one at the top is fine. The two on either side are the issue.

Great build and as a suggestion can you mount the caps lying down? There could be enough space I guess.
Not a super elegant solution but it could save the day.

Put them on the bottom of the PCB.

"Great build and as a suggestion can you mount the caps lying down?"
Thanks for your response but not enough room.

"Put them on the bottom of the PCB."
madbean to the rescue! Didn't even think of that. Should work just fine. Thank you very much!

Low profile electros worked perfectly on the bottom of the pcb! Thank you very much!
