Title: ROG Ruby Amp Switch on Noise
Post by: Marshall Arts on October 09, 2018, 07:31:31 AM
Hi,

I have build a ROG Ruby Amp (http://www.runoffgroove.com/ruby.html (http://www.runoffgroove.com/ruby.html)) and it's working great as a test amp.

However, whenever I switch it on, it makes a real loud noise... probably a cap loading up or so. Here is the noise:

Can anybody tell me what this is and does anybody have a solution for that?

Thanks!

IIRC, this is pretty common with solid state amps -- it's why most hi-fi amps usually have a delay on power up (with my Pioneer, I can hear a relay click on, five seconds after the amp powers up.)

Don't ask me how guitar solid state amps get around it.

Thanks. Anybody with an idea how to fix it?
