My name is Justin, but everyone calls me Cobb. Why? because I grew up in Cobb County (GA.) Then moved to the country in high school. And they were stupid. So they called me Cobb. Now I live in Cobb again and it makes no sense.
I just realized... "TheCobbenator" was a name my friend Kyle gave me when he heard me play "Seek and Destroy" when we were about 14. Nostalgia overload!

i just love how international this community is.
A side effect of providing these great quality pcbs to is that so many people from around the world get together.. i find that great.

Toby here, new to pedal building and am super intrigued.
Born in Australia but now live in Canada!
Man, how did I miss this fun thread. My name is Dave and I live in Victoria, on an island off the west coast of British Comumbia, Canada. I dont have any cool nicknames. I was once called Charlie for 2 years cause when I started a job (cook at the time) there were 3 other Daves there. My first day of work one of the more senior guys says "Who are you?". I say "Dave" (say in your head in a meek 19 year olds voice). He says "That dosn't work, your Charlie now". And that was that.
Hey! I missed that, too! So, Hector here from Athens, Greece. Nice to meet you all! ;D
P.S. Hey, Adam! Are we the only Greek guys in here ??
Curtis here, Canadian, but living in Germany for the last year and a half. Heading back soon.
Picked up building pedals a few years back, given that it's a fairly compact hobby and you can take it with you, unlike my other hobby, building guitars.

Hi!
My name is Tom.I have been an audio service tech in the Chicago NW suburbs for almost 30 yrs.I have bulit a number of Metropoulos Marshall clone amps and a couple Allen amps.I have built 8 Madbean pedals so far, only problem was with the Current Lover.Replacing the defective V3207 with an MN3007 after reconfiguring the power supply circuit got it working.I'm in pedal heaven, can't wait for more!Happy to be here.
hi my name is courtney. it's a girls name. i'm a guy. i am very bitter and angry at life and my parents. i used to hate country music but living in nashville for 8 years has made it grow on me. i tour for a metal band and i don't like metal. i really do sound bitter.
Hi folks, my name is Blake. I'm fairly new to the hobby, but have completed a few successful builds using madbean pcbs and sourcing parts myself. I am now venturing past the simple Fuzzface and boost circuits for more complex builds. This forum seems like an indispensable resource and thanks for having me!
Welcome Blake!

So this is the helloiammethread:)
I fairly recently joined this forum. My first name is Bengt and my last name is the one i use as username ^^. Living in and typing from sweden.
I am as new in DIY-guitarboxes as i am a member here (built four new and repaired two old so far), but im not really a newbie when it comes to electronics. In my earlier professions i have worked on aircraft and telephone electronics; mostly in the testing/calibration field. Nowadays im a teacher. I have "always" been a musician, and the last decade i have spent a lot of time playin/recording in my DAW studio (you know... DIGITAL stuff...). Besides my own music i am part of internetbased collab project Hellvalla Burn (www.hellvallaburn.com (http://www.hellvallaburn.com) ... check it out, you might like it. Hard rock).
So this whole solder-caps-enclosure-drill-resistor-ANALOGUE-CIRCUIT-scene is a bit like ... getting back to where it started for me. And so far i find it verrrrrry stimulating and fun. Addictive is the word, i guess. I still dont know how long it will last as an interest though. I think... i cant really build 40 boxes... so i guess i will travel on somewhere from here, and probably i will go build myself some guitar amp. And on the way i really have to get into (understanding of) tubes. I havent played around much with them so far.
The only thing that surprise me, when i browse around this forum and similar; is how FAST you guys seem to put together a fully functioning box. One evening? Two hours? You must be kidding lol? On the other hand i have always been slow. Slow but careful and accurate. I guess.
Cheers folks. Nice forum:)
my name is charles. or chuck if we are buddies. Everyone should presume we are, because we are.

Hey Guys, Didier here from Paris (not Texas...)!
New on the board, I'm quite envolved in vintage tube amps and cabs. And for now with FX pedals, so I"m going to build my first one: Kingslayer.
Sorry for my bad accent ;D

Chris....From Northern California. I've been making pedals for a couple of years now, on and off. I didn't know Madbean existed until recently, and I have to say they have some of the best built boards around.
I'm Andy,
I've been making pedals based on books for a few years and recently found MadBean after looking for a harmonic energizer clone. I've bought a pork loin, kingslayer, some manglers and road rages and very impressed so far. Still waiting for the karateshop to be in stock, not long now. ;D

Warm...!?!?!? I`m freezing my ass...(cold fronts come from the Artic)... but if you don't mind a big mess in my house and my crazy mom + you bring me a reverb tank and other things, just tell me when your coming ;)
Uh, your cold fronts from Canada probably don't compete with the fact that here in Canada, we've had snow on the ground for weeks.
Mexico is always very warm in comparison.
Welcome!
Jacob
OK OK, not as bad as Canada, I remember back in the day when I was in Chicago and how the snow glitters :'( but it is not like sun shine all day ether.
Probably not. But you don't see temps below zero C often I bet. Sometimes we're down at -40 to -50 C where I live.
Jacob
My names Joe, Been on here about a year or so, decided to get into this due to being tired of being locked into a stock sound on pedals. Led to me moving to ATX to start a biz with my friend and me working as a repair tech at a high end synth shop.
I definately spend more time messing with circuits and the like than anything else. I love it though.
hey Joe, do you build synth modules at all? Always wanted one, couldn't afford it :)
As for weather -- by the time Christmas gets here, it will be shorts and singlet outside with cold beer time!
We are eventuallly moving into all aspects and directions of that, yea.
We carry all kinds of stuff at my store, so Of course Im going to be busting things open and looking at how they are made all the time.
I work at that shop "Switched On" in Austin, the amount of toys I can mess with is amazing. The simple fact I have every ARP unit known to man at my fingers to mess around with alone is worth it!
Hi anybody,im Max from Rome Italy, new to the board!

Hi guys,
I'm Ludovik, a french canadian from Montreal.
I've been lurking around the Madbeans forum for more than 2 years now.
I'm not very active on the forum (other than a build report here and there,
and buying stuff on the BST/GroupBuy forum).
I feel like sharing a bit, so here's my story:
I started to play electric guitar when I was 15, and decided to go study
in Electrical Engineering to be able to make amps and pedals. In 1995,
when I was in Cegep (comes between High School and University here in Quebec), I
builded my first pedal, a Tube Screamer from a schematic I took from GeoFex. Made
a bunch of mods to it, unfortunately none of them sounded any good.
After Cegep, I went to University, but stoped playing guitar and building pedals...
I finished my EE degree, got a job as a programmer. And after a couple of years
working, picked up my guitar and started playing again. Even started a band with
friends at work for 5 years.
2 years ago, needed a couple of pedals for the band, and realized that I studied
in electronics to make pedals/amps and didn't make much of it, so I builded 4 byoc
kits and got hooked on the hobby. Not long after, I discovered Madbeans and been
building since. I'm only building pedals for myself, never selled any of them.
I've been working as a programmer for 11 years now. I wish I hadn't stop making
pedals when I was younger. Don't know were that would've lead me. Anyhow, I would
like to start my pedal company, but i'm aware that the market is saturated. So
now, I'm building as much as i can, to get to know most pedals.
I really enjoy hanging out here, and hopefully I'll be able to give more to the
community.
Regards,
Ludo
Welcome Ludo (formally)! I'm glad to hear you found your way back after all those years. :)
Mine is in my sig.
But in case I change my sig...
My birth certificate says Robert, but I go by Rob.
I've been lurking here for a minute but never saw this thread.
rocko, it's not my name but it's what my friends call me. Non-friends and my mama call me Mark...or sometimes Mathew, which is my brother's name. If she mixes up our names it usually means she's mad, which isn't a good thing for either of us.
im john
I'm Drew, or Andy, or Andrew.
Mostly Drew.
I'm John and I may have a problem. I got my 1st pedal kit on Dec 3, 2015. A BYOC Silver Pony. Built it and it worked. It was too easy, and I decided to try building some Madbean pedals. Did a Mudbunny Violet Ram and a Slow Loris. Both sound awesome, and the Slow Loris is replacing my GFS Brownie Rat clone on my board. Then on to a Sea Urchin (was going to etch it myself, but went with a board from Haberdasher. Populated the board last night, rocked it on my test rig, and it sounds great, ready to box. Also got a Cardinal Tremolo board ready to start, maybe tonight (damn, you talked me into it). Did I mention I've been playing around with etching boxes? I've got some purple boards from OSH Park too.

Hi Jim, welcome.
If you want to start a new thread for help, go into the area that you want to post in (possibly the General Questions area?) and hit the 'New topic' button in the right of screen.
