I promised to get back to you once it will be ressurected and there she is!
Me and the mad scientist had to rip apart the block.. oh, wrong story.. I asked my friend for help and he discovered after nearly whole day of scanning the entire PCB that there was one tiny crack near one of IC4 lug that goes to R24. Bridged that thing and it's back to life! :)

Thanks guys for your help :)

Yes, this circuit sounds like a good idea and certainly next time I'll be using that.
In this one shot deal I changed stock R5 to variable resistor out of 100k 9mm Alpha pot together with 100k resistor in parallel. Results wasn't just as I expected, you kinda can get sort of dry signal but it's not as clean as signal from guitar. But it works enough for my needs :)

Huge thanks to Brian MadBean for that tip :)

I would like to stick to passive solution like it was done in CE-2 but I have no idea if it's even possible..?

Hi guys,

I have that weird need to add blend or signal mix control to Current Lover.
My idea was to use 100kB pot and mix signal fom the guitar but before CL circuit. Center lug as a guitar input and two other as main output and input of the circuit.

I'm just not sure if I see it correctly. Searching through google about that many says something about stereo pots and active circuits. But in recently built CE-2 you can just toss a pot in series with another resistor and that's all!

Your help will be much appreciated :)

I haven't found so far anything new. I don't have enough patience for it so I'm currently focused on other projects, just finished 4 Current Lovers and Pork barrel is next for tomorrow. But thanks for cheking, I'll surely post some results once I will fix this sucker.

Thank you Brian for quick reply.
I do get delayed signal from Pin3. I swapped this IC to other sockets and it seems to be working there. I checked values of nearby components to IC4 socket and they seem
to be ok as well. It's gonna take loooonger that I thought.. :(

Hi guys!

After some time fighting by myself to debugg this project I gave up and I kindly ask you for help. Although it's my second time building Dirtbaby it never started at first kick. Always something to check..

Problem I have this time is that effects seems to not do much. I get a clean signal through, pots kinda works but they only modulated clock noise, no wet signal at all.

Voltages are fine, except IC4:

1- 8,14V (doc: 4,24V)
2- 0,4V (doc: 4,24V)
3- 3,76V (doc: 3,9V)
4- 0V (doc: 0V)
5- 8,12V (doc: 4,23V)
6- 8,13V doc: 4,24V)
7- 8,14V (doc: 4,24V)
8- 8,68V (doc: 8,89V)

I wanted to check circuit with audio probe but have no idea which pins need to be checked.

Thank you so much in advance for your time and help! :)

Crazy build, goo job! Do you possibly have spare set of these photocells? It's last thing I need to finish my builds, nearly finished PCBs are collecting dust since last winter lol ;)

Speaking about wrong value I had a problem with R32. I couldn't find 62k resistor so I can choose between 56k or 68k. Does this resistor have a big impact on overall circuit? I can see that it's close to Vc which goes to Clock trimmer and later MN3007..

All other parts are according to spec, I've checked them few times each one of them.

Hi guys,

Sorry for not bringing anything useful to this conversation this tome, but I'm having problems with Current Lover as well. Actualy with 3 of them. All boards do works, before calibration I do get a clean signal but calibration itself isn't going properly. I do 't have that crazy jet flanging sound at all, more like a super fast tremolo/delay like spund on Rate knob fully clockwise.

If somebody would be able to take a look on my topic as well I would highly appreciate.

Hello everyone!

I'm in big need to debug my Current Lover builds. Yes, I have 3 boards in progress and none of them works properly. I mean that before calibration I do get a clean signal (which is good) but during calibration sometimes I reach nasty clock clicking noise or very poor flanging (practicaly no jet flanging at all) comparing to what you can find on YouTube. I made a run through every single resistor and cap, tried to swap ICs and I'm kinda hopeless.

Here are my voltages:

And the PCB itself:

Is there anybody able to debud this board? Can it be faulty MN3007 chip?
Thank you soooo much in advance :)

Hello guys!

I came today to you with big need to solve a problem with popping circuit.

There is one polish website/shop which sales DIY PCBs. I dediced to mod "splitter" board to use together with ABY switch routing.
Of course "splitter" circuit wasn't designed for adding footswithes, but I figured out to put switches routing between 1st lug of one of TL072 and later route signal to each channels before C4 and C5 caps. All works as it should, but as you might expect there is this nasty popping while switching each channels. I contacted designer of this board with question how to fix this but I only got answer with something about "grounding resistors" while caps are disconnected.

Is there anyone who could explain me how to add these resistors? What value and how/where connect them to ground?

Thank you in advance,

So.. I'm proud to present you one of the best build I've ever done. Classic Moodring circuit without any extra mods in nice clean orange enclosure. Simple as this! :) Enjoy!
