Open Discussion / NPN Rangemaster Transistor by mistake. Now what?
« on: January 15, 2019, 06:16:41 AM »
Ok, i'm very angry.
I sold my rangemaster to a friend (because he really wanted it and he's a good friend), so i bought
another Transistor from SmallBear.
Today i got it and i found out I bought a NPN !

What am i gonna do? how do they sound compared to PNP?

I'm very disappointed of myself  :-[

I'm curious, Do you eq to the rhythm circuit of the JM? The bridge pickup in every JM I've every played is super trebly.

No, i don't do much, and it is trebly. But i was looking for some king of overdrive, my mind is not clear about what i want.
I had many suggestions, i'll try something soon

If your guitar is a Rickenbacker into a Vox amp then you are set. 😀

If not, what are you using?

Jazzmaster + 5e3

I know, i'm sorry.
I mean something like a Beatles sound, or that trebly-sound of that era.
I'm not really sure, i'm confused.

Open Discussion / 60s style OD. suggestions?
« on: January 12, 2019, 04:28:23 PM »
Hi guys.
My pedalboard dirt-side consists in:
Rangemaster-Superfuzz-BigMuff-FuzzFace-ToneBender3-HBOD-Dyna red distortion.
this is a wonderful chain, and i'm very happy.
I'm looking for something like a 60s-style OD sound.
Any suggestion?

Open Discussion / PedalPCB D3lay. How does it sound?
« on: November 25, 2018, 07:44:56 AM »
Hi guys.
I don't need another pedal, but i've seen that a shop in EU holds kits for PedalPCB's projects.
I was looking at that D3lay, and i have a few questions:
-how does it sound? is it comparable to CB belle epoch?
-are there any demos around?
-does it fit in a 1590b, with jacks on the side?

Open Discussion / Buffer before Ge pedals?? RM is crazy
« on: November 16, 2017, 07:28:20 AM »
Hi guys. I have 3 Ge pedals: ToneBender mk3, FuzzFace, Rangemaster.
Every time they get a pedal in front of them, they get crazy! TB and FF are fine, I like them this way; but the RM is a mess! It sounds like a cooked wah and with a buffer before becomes a treble nightmare.
Why is that? What can i do about it? Should i embrace this and build a buffer inside, therefore adjusting LP and HI pass filters?

Cool. Thanks MB! I settled for 4.7nf, it's good enough now. I found these mn3209 at a good price so i took them, the flanger sounds good, tighter i would say.

Right. I forgot to say that i have the mn3209, without the 4049n. I removed the 680pf cap because i read that it wasn't needed. Do i need to put it back in place?

Open Discussion / Switching PS are noisier?
« on: October 26, 2017, 02:48:14 AM »
Hi guys. I'm looking for a new power supply for my pedalboard.
I see there are 2 types of PS: regulated and switching. It seems to me that switching types are smaller but noisier, do your experience confirm this theory?

Just a few fuzzes and overdrives, + wah, phase 90, electric mistress, small clone.
I tried the superfuzz alone and i had a fixed-pitch modulating tone. With my old Boss PS everything was dead quiet.
