Congrats!  Love the green!  I have the same one in Orange, it was my main gigging guitar for years.  Still love it

I'm into high gain stuff, but have mostly exhausted those  circuits.  I don't use as much modulation as I used to, but have almost bought the Julia a few times.  This might be a front runner, thanks!
I actually built a pork barrel a while back.  Maybe I can mod it a bit
Yeah I'm enjoying mine but haven't boxed it up yet lol. Finally got working chips and life is good. CabinTech has NOS bucket brigades but not clocks last I checked. If you get in a bind and can't find them I have a few extras.

Madbean has a similar pcb the pork barrel but not exactly the same. Doesn't have the lag knob or the toggle switch if I remember correctly.

I would recommend the madbean Total Recall (DMM clone). It's challenging but fun and the final product is stellar.
Another intriguing option.  Are the chips hard to source?

Dead End FX "Larry". If you like flangers, this will obliterate any of them.

That's awesome!  But probably too ridiculous for me at the moment heh

I'm on a bit of a streak this year but I'm usually like you, just 3 maybe 4 builds a year. What are you in to? Really like the pedalPCB Caesar chorus that I built recently. The Tour Bus is definitely on my list for the this fall/winter.

It's a tough one, but I gotta recommend the Aion Blueshift. Not only is an incredible-sounding circuit that truly is unique among choruses but the build itself feels like a rite of passage; if you can pull it off, you can handle almost anything!
Looks like a cool one!  A bit daunting though.
I have done some reasonably complicated builds in the past.  When I started, PCBs were scarce and I was too stubborn to learn to etch.  So I wired a zvex Seek Wah on perf board haha

Have you thought about designing your own?  With your experience, you've seen most of the standard circuits.  You could start with your own OD, distortion or fuzz, lay it out, breadboard it to tweak the values, then either build it on veroboard or have a PCB made.  One of a kind!  After than, you could move to designing a modulation for a bigger challenge.

I've done some basic stuff like combining parts of existing circuits.  My favorite was adding a tone control to a one knob fuzz, surprisingly nice sound for a simple circuit.  I don't have the knowledge to build a circuit from scratch

Hi all,
I've been building for quite a long time.  Have done a lot of pedals, mostly overdrive/distortion/fuzz and compression,  but some delay and modulation as well.  I only find time for ~1 or 2 builds per year now.  What are some "must build" projects if you only could build a couple more in the near future?

Thanks!

General Questions / Re: Morely Bad Horsie 2 modding
September 20, 2021, 06:33:18 AM
Haven't messed around with this pedal in a LONG time.  But here are some notes that I had found from DIY stompboxes way back in the day.  I believe this is for Bad Horsie I:

"c5 to a .1uf brings up bass in bypass mode to keep you from loosing your bottom end.

r12 to 56k give the wah some balls

c9  put a switch in there to give you either the .01 a .022  or a .0047

if you do all the other mods you dont' really need this one on the c9.

c14 c15 and c 16 .22uf  see the problem with teh bad horsie is the c14 capacitor it goes into a .01 after using the .22uf no no no no no..  bad  morley.  just replacing this made my buddys pedal sound natural and not "morley"

replace r24 with a 50k resistor and a 100k pot in series.  to help with the sweep.

r15 replace with a 100k pot.  or you can just add in a 50k pot with the resistor inseries.  this will determine the contour of the wah. basically the last two mods i listed here are what the bad horsie II is.."

He used to do great one off etches, not sure if he still does

Another vote for Lunar Module being amazing.  I have built a Mayo, Screwdriver, and Lunar Module and I preferred the Lunar Module by far.

I ordered with Tayda last week, maybe on Sunday or Monday.  I chose the faster Air option, was maybe $10 for shipping for $25 worth of components and a couple enclosures.  It left Thailand on Tuesday and got to my house in Illinois on Thursday.  I was surprised

Does anyone do pedalpcb kits. I've been wanting to build the Organ Donor forever

Haven't done one of the PedalPCB kits, but have used several of their PCB's (including Organ Donor) and they're great. really like their selection.

Great build.  The Blue Collar and Red Snapper have consistently on my board for years...
What do you think about the Convex?
