My international order was shipped on 25th of April. Today I finally got it in my mailbox. It took 53 days... Normaly, my orders reach here within 14 days.

I understand your decision Brian. Let's hope things get better, soon. Stay safe and enjoy building & making sounds.

You could breadboard just the input stage to test tubes. If one triode works chances are the second one does, too. You will need to hook up the heaters though so you would need to be very careful about touching the 5W resistor (let it cool down after powering off).

I was even wandering if there is a way to use pins and pinholders or some sort to test the tubes and maybe not even have to solder them at all, like bigger pre-amp & out-put tubes and their sockets.

I guess I better do some kinda Black Friday thing. So, for today all orders of $19.99 and up (ex. shipping) will get a free PCB. We'll start with Flabulanche and if that runs out I will select something else.

Also, all VFE are back in stock. There are two new VFE projects: the Old School tremolo and White Horse compressor.

The new v.2 switching board is now shipping with all VFE projects, too. All VFE docs have been updated with links to the new switching board doc. The switching board doc has everything in it now - regular doc, drill guides, quick build guide. Please let me know if you have any questions on the two new projects.

Nice!
On the VFE website I read the following, under "Story":

"Despite the name changes, the Old School has always been a transistor-based, vintage tremolo circuit. I find transistor-based tremolos have a richer sonic character than their optical counterparts, due to the hint of phasing that is a result of the change in gain of the transistor itself."

But, in your builddoc I see that an opto-coupler is used.

How did that come about?

I guess, P stands for "Power", it's a power/ current resistor?

Any updates for the BOM for the Tractor Beam?

Is it okay to use a 100uF (35v) electro in stead of the 150uF (25v), because the 150uF electro's I have from Tayda are 10x12mm with 5mm lead spacing; too big.
The 100uF electro's I have in stock are 6x11mm with 2.5mm lead spacing. These will fit under the board.
