I played Far Cry 3 and enjoyed it.  Still haven't played 4 yet.  I'm sure I'll eventually get around to it.
I like to wait until games are old and cheap.  So 5 will be a ways off.

Still enjoying Sniper Elite 4.

Build Reports / Black Sheep - Roland Bee Baa circuit
« on: April 05, 2018, 11:36:07 AM »
This one started out as a Black Arts Black Sheep clone from storyboardist's layout.  But I wasn't happy with the sound of mine
compared to some of the demo vids.  So I modded it back to Bee Baa specs and stuck in a switch to go from boost to fuzz/distortion.
That's why the depth pot is really circuit gain.  I really like the Bee Baa sound. It's a thick, pleasant distortion that goes well with
different tone circuits.  Made up from 3 stages of BJT common emitter amplifiers.

Obligatory messy gut shot.  :)

It's a really useful tool.  Especially if you don't have room/budget for a regular table saw.
I'm using it today to cut copper clad.  So much easier to use than my old
method of using a dremel wheel.  ( and makes much straighter edges )

I had been contemplating getting the saw for at least a year.  I couldn't be more pleased with the purchase.

Here's the first official build with the new saw.

It's a case to hold a Music From Outer Space modular synth.  I'll post updates in "Misc DIY Stuff".
$20 of pine and some screws.  I'll probably finish it with tung oil.  Really pleased with how it turned out.
I've already got a great idea for another project:  a cat tower!

That's great that your DIY interest has returned!  One nice thing about a hobby is that you can put
a little into it or a lot into it.  It's up to you.  There's no external pressure.

That looks really nice.  I 'll have to use some gray knobs on some of my builds.

Looks good!  I still have to box mine up.  One failed attempt at a 1590BB.

Yes! Very nice.  I'm also curious as to how the finish was done. Etching? Decal?

That's wonderful that you adopted a shelter pet.  I have one shelter cat and 2 more that were strays.
They're the best pets anyone could hope for.  I'm sure Daisy is super happy to have a new home.

General Questions / Re: SANITY CHECK: CB30 clone
« on: March 25, 2018, 10:40:08 AM »

Q5: 12 / 9.58 / 2.88

I believe that Q5 is set up as a buffer and that the voltage on the gate should be close to 1/2 * supply voltage.
Closer to 6.0V for a 12.0V supply voltage.  If someone knows more, please chime in.
