I made that pedal a few years back and it is a nice pedal. I would not worry too much about diodes, just go for what sounds good to you.

and in Ge mode this thing just sings and nice and warm, I left it on the entire time with the band and I can tell you this thing is a great fuzz! Vol knob on my axe from sparkling clean to mean fuzz... 

How does it sound? Does it compare to the original?

I have a very busy work schedule and sadly have not even tried out the pedal but I will be able to test it out with my band next week and will report back on how this thing sounds with a gut shot... This thing is totally different then the original version...

Yeah this is not the place for this post but...
Fuzz Duo is different now where there are only 3 transistors.
Switch toggles between Si/Ge for Q1 and there is the added tone controls

This one is totally different then the original but it still rocks!

But but... He is selling killer wah pots now!
I would never buy any of his pedals though and I think he really stuck is foot up his ass into his mouth now 

In the mean time you could always snag a drybell to hold you over :p
