Could you give a summary of its features please?
Is the stereo signal derived similarly to the Stereo Memory Man, or something else?
I'm assuming it isn't true stereo I/O!

It's fake stereo, so one output has the wet inverted like the Stereo MM. But, it's cool sounding. The main circuit is stock DM-2 but I will list subs to make if you want to build something like the AD-900 or FX-90. The clock and modulation comes from the Memory Man. The attempt here it to combine all the best features of each type but also make it easier to build than my Aquaboy and Man O War projects.

I expect to get it released this week. Working on some new project ideas this weekend helped get the motor started again.

This sounds good. Thanks for the information.
Curious about the BBD used and the enclosure size too.
Are there othe features? (e.g. Tails bypass like the Man O' War DX)

Any news on Anamorph?
Yeah, any news?

I'm having a procrastination problem.

Site seems to be running slow as mud right now. Not sure what's going on.

Build Reports / Re: Sunn Beta Bass preamp - SUNNβEAM
February 25, 2020, 11:53:23 PM
I'm just about to order the parts for my Sunnbeam, the PCB has been on the shelf for a few months.
Looking forward to finishing it.

I wonder, is there any chance of a dual channel Sunnbeam, like the Beta preamp?
Maybe something that would fit in a 1590D, two or three footswitches (A/B channel select, both channels and maybe a bypass footswitch).

I don't think it would require all the CMOS/JFET channel switching, that's just to enable remote control.

I think if R18 were replaced with two resistors, you could simply ground the point where they join to mute that channel.

Although the builder can choose whether to build as a Beta Bass or Beta Lead, it'd be cool if one of the channels had a switch to select Bass or Lead.

That with a tuner would be almost a perfect pedalboard by itself!

Thanks for the reply. I've ordered one.

I noticed you used the Mid circuit from the Beta Lead rather than the Beta Bass.
Was there a reason for this? Does it sound much different (after adjusting capacitor values)?

Thanks for the order. Should have a new batch of boards in next week and I can get it shipped out to you.

From my understanding the only difference between the Bass and the Lead were 4 cap values. The topography of the two version is the same, at least according the what I read.

Thanks, looking forward to it!

Sorry, I've looked into this a bit more...
The difference between the Bass and Lead preamps is a handful of caps as you say.
But there are also two different topologies for the Mid circuits. However this doesn't seem to be a difference specifically between Bass and Lead models as I initially thought, but rather it is perhaps that one or the other is a later revision (or incorrect schematic?).

Amazing work!
I've been waiting for a Beta Bass PCB for years.
Have the PCBs sold out already? Your site says it's available to backorder.

This is incredibly helpful, thank you!
I really appreciate you taking the time to put that together.

Wow! That would be unbelievably helpful, thank you!
I know they tend not to have the PCB-mount pots or the more audio/stompbox-specific components (BBDs, Companders etc), but they're fairly easy to source from elsewhere.
Punching in all the different resistor and capacitor values is the bit I worry about in case i order the wrong parts, especially due to the varying sizes of the capacitors.

Are there particular brands or series of capacitors available at Mouser that work fairly well on MBP PCBs in terms of physical size?

Thanks again!

Open Discussion / Man O' War DX Mouser Project?

Hi folks,
Does anybody have a Mouser Project for the Man O' War DX that they could share, please?

Thanks!

The problem might be that when the modulation is "off" the op-amp's non inverting input is just floating.

Praying for your continued recovery, great to hear you are feeling better!  Take your time, and THANK YOU!   ;D

Also, ABDLX is everything.  Thanks for getting a few more.

Sure thing. I will probably carry of few for a while. There is going to be some overlap with the Man O War deluxe but they are different in several key aspects. I might even re-design the ABDX layout at some point...or make it one of the "PLR" series later on.

Could you expand on the similarities and differences between the ABDX and the Man O' War DX, please?
I imagine having both would be overkill, but I'd like to build one of them.

If I were a perfboard guy, then yes.
But thanks for the link anyway. :)

As I said, Kevin is definitely the person to make this a reality.
Can't wait to build my L5 pre-amp!

Yes! Both the Lead and Bass would be fantastic projects, but I'm especially after the latter.

Nobody?
No fans of the Melvins/Buzzo's tone?
