Can anyone please tell me if these are valid tests for a 2N2646 transistor? I ordered 10 and they are all failing with no readings.

If they are not valid could anyone please suggest other tests? Thanks everyone! I've been pulling my hair out with a percussion tremolo build.

Build Reports / Swedish Chainsaw and Bosstone Builds

As family and work life has almost killed my pedal building time, I did manage to finally finish up these 2 this past weekend. Fun pedals definitely.

Build Reports / Silk Road / Sho on vero
June 16, 2018, 09:14:19 PM
Finished up a couple recently. Thanks for looking everyone.

My personal opinion on the silk road is that I really like it to boost a low gain amp. Also great to boost another pedal. It seems to work well in the same way that a Timmy would in these instances. Where I thought it was just ok was playing into my Port City Pearl 50 100% clean amp. It still sounds good at med-high volumes but I just wasn't into it when it was whisper quiet into that amp. Although it did sound great at any volumes and playing into any type of clean or dirty channel into my Egnater Tweaker 40. Just my honest review. I'm sure others may feel differently.

Next up is the Sho'Nuff boost. Not too much to say with this one that everyone in doesn't already know.

Build Reports / Beserker
February 23, 2016, 09:52:51 AM
I start a new job tomorrow so I wanted to bust one last one out before I have to use my time and brain to take in a million new things.

This is an Ampeg Scrambler clone with an added volume control.  Used some extra colors for fun.  The LED is orange.  Hopefully some people around my age in here remember the Berserker arcade or Atari 2600 game?

Build Reports / Chasm Reverb
February 05, 2016, 10:42:11 AM
Finally finished this one up.  Chasm Reverb by Dead Astronaut.  It has been one of my "goal" reverbs.  Love the versatility of it!  From tight hall to spacey ambient reverbs.

Build Reports / ATrip To The Moon Fuzz
August 23, 2014, 08:38:18 PM
Just finished this one up.  It's a guitarpcb board Luna Fuzz.  I can't say I'm too proud of my wiring on this one.   I rushed it and didn't plan it out very well.  But we live and learn.  It's in a powdercoated textured enclosure.

Build Reports / Delux 60 vero
August 21, 2014, 07:21:05 PM
This one is special to me.  My son turned 3 a bit over a month ago (July 11th).  His handwriting has been improving fairly rapidly.  So I thought why not have him do the labels for this one.  So a couple of days after his birthday I asked him to write "VOL" and "DELUX 60" on his chalkboard.  I then took a picture of it and here we go.  The LED is red because I asked him what his favorite color was...he said red.  This was my second veroboard build.

Gave me an excuse to try out the clear washer too.  :)

Build Reports / One-Two Punch (GuitarPCB Stage 357)
August 05, 2014, 12:01:13 PM
Another popped board I grabbed from Bruce R.  Since you can kick in a second FET I figured the One-Two Punch name was fitting.  Also "Sting like a bee." came to mind for the colors.  Also old boxing is cool.  :)

Build Reports / Znow White AutoWah (GuitarPCB - SWAH)

Popped board from Bruce R.  I snipped the trimmer and added a pot.  Nice sounding/fun pedal.

Build Reports / Hypnotic Tremolo (EA Tremolo)
August 03, 2014, 11:12:58 AM
Not a lot to say that isn't already know about this one.   But I will say to make sure and read the build report if you are using the Tonepad build.   A few things are incorrect with the layout.

Build Reports / Mr. Bubble Reverb (Rub A Dub)
July 11, 2014, 11:50:42 AM
I grabbed the mostly popped Rub A Dub board from WretchedStudios over at the BYOC fourm (although he may be here too) and took it from there.  Being new to the pedal world grabbing a few popped boards were a great practice to get a feel for how they all come together.  For me the painting, offboard wiring and wire neatness can be the main challenge.  This was also my first experience with the 3PDT board.

As most know, a simple, nice sounding reverb.  This one has the long brick (2.85ms) in it.  Last week I bought a Rub A Dub Deluxe and can't wait to get to that.

Nothing crazy...just having lots of fun doing these.
