I am trying to ship pcbs internationally now and am using a small bubble mailer.  For one board it is 1 ounce and for two it is 1.5 oz.  I went to the post office and it was going to cost about 14 dollars to ship to sweden fom kansas city.   What is the best way to ship these items and not cost so much I've only collected $4 for shipping on each of these. Your help would be appreciated. Thank you.

Hi,  ok, I have been working on a pedal PCB over the last year, the Alembic-like Frog tube preamp PCB.  There is some interest from people here on the forum.  I was concerned about liability if someone hurts themselves or burns their house down while building one of my PCBs or even after.  Of course it does include 185vdc to the plate side of the tube, so you do need to know what you are dealing with.  I need some guidance, names of insurance companies you have used for General Liability/Product liability insurance.  I am willing to take this discussion offline as well.  I am about ready to release the PCB, but am having some trouble finding reasonably priced insurance.  I don't want to lose my home, etc. to provide this PCB to the public, in fact, I am concerned enough, I may not produce the board for sale, which makes me sick considering the amount of time it has taken to get to this point, and, the patience and interest of the people on the forum, that has been created surrounding this unique PCB.  Right now, the rough estimates are probably over 2000 dollars per year.  Any thoughts appreciated.

I am looking for simple instructions for putting a logo on a PCB design I have in Eagle CAD.  I have googled some instructions, but for some reason haven't been successful.  1776's logo looks good and I saw one with some labeling or logo around a 4pdt switch on the PCB that looked cool as well as others....Just want to professionalize my design a bit.  Thanks.

I have a G-02 and a SWAH board and noticed they do not fit in a 1590b....so, Are there any of you out there that have boxed one of these up?  I am just looking for ideas for the best way to box these up.  Pictures would be great.  THanks

Sorry guys, but a search on this subject didn't yield good results.  I am building the pre-2015 HoneyDripper with the big 3p4t rotary switch.  Is the "Alpha SR2612F-0304-18R0B-D8-N" switch at Tayda a good match for that build?  The build docs didn't give a part number and the old link in the docs is broken, so, if you can, please let me know.  If not, please let me know the correct part number and some possible places to buy it from.  Thanks!

If there has already been a discussion like this, let me know, I couldn't find one.

I am wondering if anybody has found any real quality difference between the alpha 16mm and the alpha 9mm pots?  Why would I use one over the other (besides the 9mm can be crammed onto a PCB easier/closer/etc).  I am talking mostly about quality and long term use.  Any thoughts on this?  I have used both and they both seem to be fine, but have used 16mm a lot longer than the 9mm pots.  Thanks!

Open Discussion / Problems with messaging?
March 07, 2016, 07:20:09 AM
I sent a couple messages to Madbean last week and haven't gotten a response, and, I looked at my Sent messages folder and they weren't there.  Is there a known problem?  I have created a tube preamp board over the last 6-7 months and I would like to offer to forum members and have tried to notify Madbean before I do.  It is a Dual Showman/Alembic inspired preamp with a charge pump that can run around 185vdc or so,  so you don't have to have a big transformer type power supply.  Easily fits in a 1590BB enclosure works like a charm.  See attachment for the 2nd prototype board.  I have a newer version about ready to go.

Open Discussion / Creation of and Selling of PCBs
May 07, 2015, 11:48:30 AM
I need some ethical help here.  If I create a PCB for sale using a freely shared schematic, is attribution enough?  Do you typically ask the originator of the schematic permission/blessing, etc?

Thanks

Open Discussion / volume swell pedal
May 12, 2014, 07:20:03 AM
Are there any plans out there for making a volume/swell pedal?  I am thinking like guitarist Steve Howe and how he swells violin style...
