Hey all.  Well after getting my v3205 build done fixed after replacing a busted BBD, my buddy wanted one too. So we opted for the MN3007 version. Well now I've got worse problems than my first build.

Signal passes through with input and output connected to testing rig, but No audio through testing rig with ground connected – Just some hum.

Double-checked all resistors, diode with meter, caps, trannies, chips, visually.

Measured voltages @ ICs, and there's something really fishy going on.  I know getting help with CL builds is probably like getting asked for change at the gas station, but any assistance would be incredible!

OneSpot power supply @ 9.40v   I highlighted the ones I thought looked within normal range. (in attachment)

So I built two of these for some buddies, but one is acting funny. Sounds perfect, but the volume sweeps from zero to full (equal output as other pedal on max volume) at about 1/4 up and then stays that volume the whole way up.  Is this probably just a bad pot?

Thanks everybody

Hey gang. I just bought a Marshall Vintage Modern and am going to build a switch for changing channels which is super simple -- just a momentary tip to ground thing. However, this won't allow for me to use an indicator to tell when I'm in the low or high range.

Anyone have an idea on how to use a momentary switch to toggle an LED? Obviously i'd be using a momentary DPDT.  Idk if I could use some kind of Relay circuit or what? Running it off 9v would be preferable for obvious reasons. Thanks ahead for any ideas!

General Questions / LT1054 in Sunking!?
March 03, 2012, 10:33:31 PM
Hey everybody. It's spring break and I've got to finish some PJs I started over Xmas.

Anyway. Can I use the LT1054 in the sunking? I'm thinking I could either cut the trace between pins 1 and 8? Or I read in another post that ibodog said to just bend pin 1 up so it doesn't connect.

I'm trying to get this PJ done without ordering anything new and I think this is the last hiccup.  Thanks gents!

Okay so I've got everything together and followed the biasing directions and I'm getting nothing.  Only the Volume control is doing anything at all. I tried several combinations of even extreme trimmer settings and am getting nothing. This is the MN3207 version.

Quite disappointing, as me and my girl of nearly four years also split up yesterday. I need this to cheer me up!

any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Hey everybody.  So I have run into a wall with my etched mudbunny Violet Ram's Head.  All the controls seem to be working correctly (including the presence mod,) but it's just SUPER quiet. With the sustain and volume pots maxed, it's maybe 1/4 as loud as bypassed. The tone seems a little too fizzy, but IDK if that's maybe because it's just so quiet and the circuit is cranked that it sounds weird.

I used the BC549B from Tayda, and will probably swap them out for the original 2n5088s for more gain once I get it working.

I don't think I subbed anything except the suggested values to make the mid sweep more dramatic. I can't find any solder bridges, and everything looks right.

Any things particular this sounds like it could be?

Okay. So I ordered my fuzz face set of transistors for my fuzz factory pedals. Do I need to use the resistors that small bear shipped with them for anything? Or discard them, etc?

Thanks!

General Questions / "Best" Big Muff for Bass?
May 04, 2011, 01:10:03 AM
Hey everyone. So I'm looking into building some more stuff for myself (and band mates) and am wondering which version of the Big Muff everyone likes with bass?

I know they're all sort of similar, JW what everyone has tried and how they like it.  I know the production EH bass BM says it's modeled after the green russian. Is that my answer?

Additionally, should I sub any caps or anything along those lines?

thanks!
