Hello,
I have my Dirtbag now for almost 6months and love it.
But I hear the LFO blead trough the audio path when not playing.
Not in a high pearcing noise but more as a constand moving feedback.
An my feedback is set so i have only 4 or 5 repeats.
I'm using 4x MN3008 in my build and it's biased just fine by scope.

Could anyone surgest what to do?

Build Reports / Chuck chuck with modded tonestack
September 21, 2012, 05:37:03 AM
After making the dr boogie (great PCB by the way)
I wasn't happy with the sounds. When I plugged it straight in my tube amp it sounded very trebley.
Not what i wanted, so I tried it in my effects return. That gave better results.
But for me not usable because I want all my effects before my tube amp.
So I got messing with the tone stack. What I did was adding this BMP tone control with pressence pot after Q4.
I removed Q5. It's version 2.
http://www.muzique.com/lab/tone3.htm
And added 2 LPF after this tone controle (10K/2n2) and the to the Level potentiometer.
This gave me the sound I wanted, Very nice and plesant lead tones and of course rythem tones.

The switches on the outside are not yet wirred.

Build Reports / Dynacord echocord mini refinish
August 15, 2012, 06:36:14 AM
Hello,
Just refinished my Dynacord echocord mini, not really a pedal but this is my go to delay.
I sounds amazing. Got it really cheap a couple of months ago (€50,- please don't hit me)
And the heads looked fine. The was good echo straight away, but it needed some work.
I have a good place here in the netherlands who has tape loops for this device.

Here's what I did with it to make it work:
1. Cleaned the heads with some polishing paste.
2. Cleaned the rubber wheels.
3. Replaced al the Elco's in the echo.
4. Made a new back plate, the original was from cardboard and looked really dull.
5. Mad the front red  ;D

And now for some pictures:

Build Reports / Tonepad CE-2 build with mods
July 25, 2012, 03:47:46 AM
Hi,
I have made a CE-2 clone on the Tonepad layout.
Since i had a set of unused MN3207 and MN3102 I put them in here.
I made some changes for powering the MN3207 and worked great.

I also like the looks of Toneczar pedals so that was my inspiration for this one.

Other mods I did was:
- Wet level pot
- Vibrato switch
- Intensatie switch (ads a 100pf in parrallel with the 47pf cap add the MN3102)
- Deep switch (changes the 0.1uf in the LFO section to a 0.068uf)
- expression pedal input for the Speed pot, (haven't tried this one out still)

Here are the results. (The guts are a little messy, a lot of wiring)

Hi,
After building the dirtbag with the V3205 chips I wasn't really happy with the sound.
So I purchased the MN3005 fakes from smallbear (2 sets). I made a little prefboard layout and changed the circuit to the MN3005 standard. Now the echo is beautifull.
What I did changed was for R11 and R12 39K instead of 68K. Somhow I liked it better with those values.

And after reading this post last night:
http://www.madbeanpedals.com/forum/index.php?topic=5090.0
I added a 100R resistor after C32. I will be trying a 1K potentiometer in the future.

Looks haven't changed, sound Oh yes. THANKS MADBEAN.

Build Reports / My Dirtbag delay with V3205
December 12, 2011, 06:05:22 AM
Here are pic's of my unfinished Dirtbag Deluxe (need to add the jacks and power plug)
Also still debugging the fizzy noise the echo is producing in the tech zone.
Other than that great design and great board, worked right away.

Thanks MadBEan for this great project.
