Build Reports / SpringBoard

Challenging VFE SpringBoard project especially the drilling !
Turn out cool despite an error placement of the dc jack but save
with the depth of the 1590B2 !
That thing sounds glorious.

Build Reports / MindBender
February 02, 2015, 01:17:47 PM
Hello all, my latest pedal, a Phillip BRYANT mindbender (NPN Ge tonebender with some tweaks). The box is from Mac Walker (DIYstompboxes). A huge Thanks to Jon Stomptown
who is design the PCB with his traditional Maestria (he normally should post the project here for the community).
I use quite low gain transistors ('round 60 for all spots) with low leakage (around 0.030mA) as well.
I also play with the imput cap to ground reduce to 3,3nF to recovery some highs at low gain setting. Same for the output cap bump it to 470nF (!) again it keeps some lows when you rolling back your volume pot and really help to get a good crunch for example.
I kept the others originals values for the Fuzz Central project, except for the fuzz pot where i highly recommand a 1KC.
So i really happy with the sound of the circuit, i can get greats differents sounds by playing volume and fuzz pots.
I'm sure some of you have NPN Ge trannys in stock waiting a great project,
You have one !

Build Reports / Demo Tape Fuzz
April 21, 2014, 02:13:19 PM
Just finish the Demo Tape Fuzz.
Great great effect, the tone stack make miracles.
Good crunch and fuzz, powerfull, tweakable. The clean side is
excellent to, my strat really love it,
i like it, Recommanded !!
My changes :
Vol 100kA
Trim 50KC for more "dialbility" and extend the clean side
C10 100pF
I have tried few op amps JRC4558D, JRC072BD,OP275
but finally a classic TI TL072CP sounded cool (to me).
The Pcb is from Haberdasher.
The art has been done with the help of 1590B template from Juansolo
and under influence of one seen on the net !
Thanks to Brian and of course Doug DEEPER the creator.

Build Reports / TONE BENDER MKII
February 20, 2013, 09:10:01 AM
Hi my latest a TONE BENDER MKII NPN loaded with low gain NTE103 (hfe around 34,43 and 56)
the board is an old etching from FUZZ CENTRAL (Mindbender project). It works great, clean up very well and low noise ! I socketed the 1nF's to try differents values and i ended up with no cap on the input and increasing the output cap to 470nF. I like it !

Tech Help - Projects Page / Switching wiring help
May 24, 2012, 05:24:21 AM
Hello all, i need help for my next pedal.
It's two boards in one box with two footswitches and one toggle.
The sketch would be :
switch A on/off
switch B channel select between two boards
Toggle switch allow to wiring boards in series/parallel !!
Led for each board and both lightning in series mode.
I know a pedal who have this configuration this is the "camel Toe" from Way Huge.
If someone can provide me a switching schem for that it will be really cool !!
Thanks in advance clever blokes,
Mich P.
