Hi Guys!

Been away for a while... i will share on build reports some jobs :)

I am building a mudbunny for a bass player and i want to add a mid pot or a switch offering more control over the mids.

I read in some post that some previous versions of mudbunny ad the mid pot... feature that on the newest version is omitted.

Any suggestions?

Thanks

Build Reports / on board mini boost
August 01, 2014, 04:55:00 AM
not a stompbox... but a nice one to share!

The idea was to install a clean boost on a guitar... not my guitar hehhe

but the end result is very god and i will try it on my strat (maybe not a clean version but a dirtier one)

I grab the circuit from the web, super simple...and small

end result

Build Reports / chasm reverb
July 30, 2014, 06:58:13 AM
and... lol.... another!

Chasm reverb from dead astronaut

Not a new build.. but i think i didn't share it on the forum.

More an ambiance box but on lower settings it gives a smooth reverb! the oscillator is a nice feature

this a buffered effect but it is placed on the end of the chain so that is not a big problem for me!

combined with a delay and OMG

the face plate didn't came out very well (old and cheap pcb boards that i bought in local shop) but... ;) it works right?!

some pics:

the off board wiring is a PITA

near to my egnater

and near to my relic amp davoli

Build Reports / tap delay - photos and demo
July 29, 2014, 05:04:43 PM
And another one!

This one is a sea urchin with a tap tempo kit from uk electronics

second unit that i build and my friend want this one to have a jack to plug is external tap switch

The first unit that i build i notice that the blink rate of the tap led was out of the time but this second one (and according to the manufacturer) as improved a lot...

this is not a digital delay so when you tap the new tempo you can year the adjustment of the time but who cares!!! i have a sea urchin on my pedal board with modulation but will have to build a new one for me with this kit... but on a double parallel delay! yeaaaa!!!

The kit it self is very cheap.. i paid with the momentary switch 13Euros!

but some pics and demo

I had a few mn3007 laying around so the BBD choice was obvious hehe

Build Reports / G Comp
June 07, 2014, 06:27:30 PM
Hey guys

Been away for a while...but still making some magic boxes lol

This one is a Ross compressor combined with a mxr noise gate. Internal chain is comp > noise gate
The noise gate and Ross is taken from tonepad. The Ross as some mods taken from fuzz central, one of the mods is the recovery switch, and it was a clean build... Can't say the same thing about the gate... It was a big trouble to make it work properly... But after changing a few things and tweaking it... Mission accomplished

The inside space was a challenge... The Ross PCB didn't help a lot... But job done

That is the second compressor model that I built... The first was a Demeter compulator and now the Ross... Honestly?? Compulator is a winner compared to the Ross

Tech Help - Projects Page / help identifying a part
April 13, 2014, 12:51:52 PM
hey guys

a friend of mine gave me an amazing surprise! An old davoli amp from 1973
its a 200wts tube amp.... and hehhe its partial working!

it uses 4xEL504 a EL80 and a ECC84
2 channels, a small reverb tank, tremolo and gain... its a beauty!!

some pics of one that i found on the web (the amp part)

this a similar one

I already found problems on some caps (filtering) and a few more things to change....

so i found the schematic of the effects/Eq/etc and i cant identify a component

its a box shape with some comps inside (resistors, caps)  and covered with some type of resin

from the schematic can anyone tell what those are?

this a photo not of my unit but it shows the parts....

Hi

I installing a tap tempo kit on a sea urchin
I bought the kit from UK electronics..nice price when compared with the tap chip

My doubt rest in the time pot and the analogue and digital ground of the PT (pin 3 and 4 I think...)

The original design grounds the time pot to the grounds of the PT

The kit don't... It grounds the pot just to the pcb

It works ok but I'm earing more noise than the usual (time with low settings)

Should I connect the pot to the A/D of the PT?

Thanks

November 19, 2013, 02:36:08 PM
A Friend bought a time ago some kits from the web but... i ask me to do the assembly  ;D

this one is a Fuzz 69 from musikding.de

I never had seen a board with all the connections indicated just by numbers... no in no out... just 1 2 3 .... but ok...
He wanted a faceplate in copper and i have to admit that is a very lovely finish!!

some pics

and you throw some light at the copper and...

Build Reports / mini phase 45
November 17, 2013, 04:03:53 PM
Hey guys

I want to share my first 1590A

It's a mini phase 45 from solderman. It's a replica of the tone pad project but in xs size

I use  matched J201 and I sound very nice...

Working with this enclosures is tuff... Everything is by the mm... But it's a beauty when we hold it on the palm of the hand

Hi guys

I've posted this question on the mods section but perhaps this is more a tech help post...

I want to add a volume pot to the phase 90 scrip logo ed from GGG

I see from the schematic two resistors near the out. A 150k > a 10k > and the output pad

Can I swap one of this resistor by a pot?

The goal is to control the volume gain that I'm getting...

hey...another one!!

hehhe

this one is taken from GGG, phase 90 script logo!

I saw the version from tonepad but the vintage look of the pcb... love at first sight!! :-*

It was a clean build.... untill i realize that i forget the wire/jumper!  :o

matched trans from banzai

yesterday when i was testing it i look at the layout and saw "MXR Scrip logo"  :P :P :P when i design it on photoshop i forgot the "t" hahaha

Build Reports / Chorus CE-2 Tonepad
November 08, 2013, 03:17:35 PM
Hi guys

just finish this one!!

Its a CE-2 from tonepad no mods.. just the basic circuit. the initial idea was to install the vibrato mod but the effect by it self is just sweet!!!

I think i will give a try on Brian pork barrel with the mods!!!!! but on a BB...

I had a two nights fight because some clock noise but with scruffie help its solved!!

i took it apart again and flip the board, add a shield sheet between the pots and the pcb and wire the footswitch with input and output grounding... no more tic tic tic.... just a sweet chorus

some photos
