Build Reports / fender blender clone (video too)
October 02, 2011, 04:58:07 PM
This thing is a beast. A friend needed one for studio work, so I etched her up and assembled in an evening. I love when stuff fires up right away. Shot a demo when my wife woke up (I stayed up all night putting her together) for the sake of archiving.  Pretty sick pedal, but even from the schematic l knew it was very foxxy...
Wife was holding the kiddo and shot the video upside down...sorry.
my pretend lead playing is terribly offensive.

Build Reports / Tilt

This pedal makes me even more excited about Brian 's original work. Can't wait to crank it through the live rig, but even on my practice rig it sounds great!

Build Reports / Feeling Loopy (Demo Added)
August 20, 2011, 04:45:42 PM
This was an incredibly gratifying build.  I actually used it tonight during a service.  So cool!
The only thing I'm a little unclear about is the filter section. Is it supposed to affect the tone of the live guitar sound as well?  I could be hearing things.

Thanks again Brian- your stuff just kills.  Always love your slant and the fact that i totally boxed this and rocked it.... and it fired right up :)
Forgive my cheeseball playing. This was immediately after a service so I had to be mindful of stage volume :)
There were still tons of people milling about.

I have a stash of 7805's that i suspect to be funky.  I picked up a giant 1 amp job from radio shack tonight, but this should be ok for the loophole?

Secondly, for the quad, I was planning on using a B100k dual gange until I can get my hands on a 1OOKc, I take it this will function, just be bunched up?

THANKS!

I know my personal tastes well enough that I'm not afraid to shove a few circuits in a single enclosure. I couldn't sleep and had been pretty broke as of lately- and didn't have separate enclosures for some circuits I needed to box up. I realized that a few would make a killer grab and go "dirt" box!  So in went the lavache, screw driver, and lunar fuzz! Took some planning (which I stink at) but she fired right up. Still playing with the q3 on the screw driver, but it sounds great as is!

Maybe one day I'll be able to afford knobs for this one! Hahah!

Oh and chris b! I haven't forgotten your care package- got back in town last nigh ;)

Mom and pop shop had 1 of these for what I what I was looking to pay for a dmm.
Looks like it might be really handy to learn what makes pedals tick.
What do ya think?

Build Reports / Double flush with demo
July 07, 2011, 12:58:23 AM
I etched this up this evening because I couldn't sleep. Even though I should. Started and couldn't finish!

Fired up perfectly - I'm sure there is some tweaking to be done, but this is one of the most gratifying builds I've ever done! I've made a modulation effect! You can't call me "dirt boy" anymore!
Thanks Brian!!

It was really dark in the garage- and about 100 degrees. It made for a really dramatic light show!

I'm not the best with schematics- but I'd be willing to sweeten the pot with
1) good vibes
2) 5 dollars via paypal (sorry, it's all I got)
3) buy you something at mouser (it's in my hometown) and save ya some shipping?
4) offer you advice on how to raise a dog?

You guys are the bomb!

Build Reports / Lavachedoodle and Zenith Drive
May 28, 2011, 01:18:36 PM
Loving the Lavach, and had a snarkdoodle looking for a box- and I also tried my second powerdercoat on 1590bb- So i figured, why the heck not?

They sound really nice together.  Thanks again Brian for the killer circuits!

Built a pair of these for friends, not really my style of drive- but I can see why they are so well received!
These are powdercoated as well ;) getting better, but still need more practice!

Build Reports / Cosmo on the rocks
May 20, 2011, 12:35:23 AM
It was too late to be drilling enclosures- but alas- here she is.

I either have a bum 127a- or I can't figure out the stinkin pinout-
So in frustration I stick a bc109 in q3.  Dear lord- loving it! I'll see if there's a place locally i can scrounge an ac127- but until then- this is a fun one!

You know what I love about bean's layouts? They just WORK.
Fire up every time!!
Thanks Brian!

Can't wait to compare this one to the one I built up with "mojo" parts ;)

Lastly- anyone smarter than me want to help me make this a lunar module?

Build Reports / SnackShack (first powdercoat)
May 17, 2011, 01:19:29 PM

Thanks to fastocker- I got the guts to delve into powdercoating.  As you can see, there's bit of orange peel, but this would be perfect for a Orange Squeezer!

Sounds good, and this stuff is dang near indescructable!

Just an idea of what this badboy sounds like.
You'll dig it!

For me- the fatpants has never left my board- and it's an always rotating lineup.  With my tele and gretsch, it's magic, and always on.  I'm debating mounting under the board, but it looks so great ! haha. Great circuit bean.   What about you guys?
