I did it again too...

User: How do you make a guitar pedal?

Cleverbot: I don't know.

User: Why not?

Cleverbot: I'm an ignorant.

Given that Eurorack is 3U (old, classic Moog is 5U high), I think I'll wait to see their press release, no offence :)

Their Keith Emerson reissue got a lot of attention!
Again "don't quote me on this" I think he was having a go at us with the "5u eurorack". I can tell you I saw 3u wooden rack with 16pin ribbon connectors and also a benchtop power supply set to 5 and 15 volts. It was empty, and I was distracted by the Moog Guitar. They did have a couple of Kayne West's synths in the repair shop.

I've had entirely too much good beer to respond to this tonight. I'll look at it tomorrow evening when I get home if someone that hasn't yet responded.

I just get a weird vibe of JHS in general. I'm not 100% sure what it is, but something just seems a bit off kilter about the way they operate.
I cannot say it better. strong +1.

I think there is some "cray-cray" bleeding through. I've heard interwebz rumors that Mr. JHS is a member of an allegedly "fringe" faction of Christianity that allegedly has some "unconventional" views.
Political and religious affiliations aside... the off kilter observation is still correct.

Should we mention the Crystal Skull...?

Every once in a while I see people mention this film. I thought it ended up not getting made?

Your second paragraph was awesome, by the way.
Sadly it was actually made.

This is all Jimilee's fault.

And maybe a little bit of Sonarchotic's. But still,  I'm gonna go ahead and lay the entire blame on Jimi. It's easier. And in the lower right hand corner is the manliest pink guitar pick you could ever hope to hold. I was encouraged by my wife to go back today and and acquire it if I felt it necessary.

Just read through a TGP thread and just about everybody agreed (gasp!) that JJ's standard 12AX7 / ECC83 has a noticeably darkening tone vs Russian and Chinese tubes.

Have you guys noticed this in your experiments?

I've generally regarding Sovtek (and all their sub brands) and Sino stuff to be sometimes harsh and usually very high gain.
Yes the chinese tubes that shipped in my JCA22H were boarding on buzzwords as used by the TGP'ers such as "shrill" and "sterile". When I retubed with a JAN AT7 in V2 and JJ's in everything else except for the PI my amp came alive and even became what some would call "Fenderish" on the clean channel through an openback 2x12 if I rolled my volume back to 7-8 on the guitar. I think it's yet again just the cork sniffing crowd attempting to protect their investment in crazy expensive tubes. I spent $75 mostly retubing my amp and LOVE the sound. I also plan on adding a choke from MM to help things along this summer.

Take some nice photos at the Moog place :) I don't think they do modulars any more though?
Alan,

Everything old, is new again.

Now don't quote me on this, but we're getting ready to re-enter the modular market via the euro-rack 5u standard.

I'm entitled to my opinion and my opinion based on demos I've heard: I'm not really interested in buying JHS or AM products. Catalinbread is more interesting to me
If I have made you feel in anyway un-entitled to your opinion I'm sorry. I was solely stating mine in agreeance with Jon(Midwayfair) I'm glad to hear that your opinion is based solely on demos you've heard, as I can now understand your point of view. Having had to deal with both on a professional level, I prefer to never deal with JHS again, and that AnalogMike and his entire crew are an absolute treat to deal with.

And I COMPLETELY agree Catalinbread is an amazing company. Plus any company that introduces a F*ck it, You build it line.. Awesome.

Edit: Catalinbread stuff.

I'm exceptionally biased, so all I am willing to say is that I hope that Josh is no longer running customer service or answering emails.

And to compare JHS with Analogman....

Love it when people get what they deserve (camera damage not so much)
It's the equivalent of a broken headstock. It sucks. It happens. It's usually fixable with 1 series and L lenses. I've gotten 10 years out of that camera, and even more out of that lense. If it can't be fixed affordably or is infact camera/lense death, it's an excuse reason to get the 5DmkIII and/or the 24-105L since we have a Rebel and another 17-40L anyways.
