General Questions / Re: dual current lover through zero

OK, here's an updated diagram. I think this would allow the FX loop from CL #2 to be used in the standard way— plugging another pedal into the jacks breaks the connection to the pot, without jacks plugged in the S/R runs through the pot, allowing dry signal to be dialled out for through zero.

Hi Dan, thanks for the reply.
The small vero circuit is Lace Sensor's stereo splitter/buffer from his dual vibe project https://www.madbeanpedals.com/forum/index.php?topic=34081.0 which gives a lot of in/out options for two effects in one box.

For CL #2, I was planning to go with Brian's scheme of switched jacks on the send return so both CLs could be used in 'normal' operation when the Through Zero switch is 'off' but as you have pointed out this would mess up the TZF sounds, I guess I will need another wiring scheme for this as well...
I like your idea of the pot— more knobs=more fun, right?  ;D
Would that pot be a voltage divider to GND?

I'll have a think and post another wiring/switching scheme here for your perusal.
cheers,
George

Sorry, I should have explained my thinking better. I got the idea from this thread— https://www.madbeanpedals.com/forum/index.php?topic=19244.0 and Brian mentions running another flanger through the send/return of the current lover to get a through zero style effect. Lace Sensor runs a fully wet chorus through the loop in the thread I've linked with some interesting results and he mentions the possibility a second current lover in filter matrix mode. I guess my main concern is will I get clock interference/heterodyning with two ciruits in the same enclosure?

Your Flintlock though zero project sounds awesome Dan but that level of circuit hacking is beyond my pay grade!  ;D

General Questions / dual current lover through zero
August 25, 2022, 03:30:27 AM
calling all the brains! I'm toying with the idea of grabbing a pair of current lover boards and putting them in a box with a switching option for through zero flanging. I've used Lace Sensor's excellent dual vibe project https://www.madbeanpedals.com/forum/index.php?topic=34081.0 as the base set up and added the switching option as below. Would this work? Any problems you foresee?

Build Reports / four phab phasers
January 15, 2022, 07:02:17 AM
Hi all, I haven't posted any builds for a while so here goes.
I got back into making electronic music again during lockdown sp decoded I needed some fx to go with synths. What goes better than phasers eh?

I wanted to build a Jurgen Haible phaser but boards weren't available so next stop Brian's Glasshole :o but due to angry pensioners, importing to the UK was off the menu ::) so I ended up building a dead end FX calypso.

This is a hard build due to the double decker pcb. I made loads of f'ups and managed to ruin the power LED
I wish all build docs were as helpful as Madbeans are.

This is a great sounding optical phaser!

I finally managed to get a board for the Jurgen Haible phaser which is a clone of the Compact Phasing A unit used by tangerine dream among others. It's a giant board with some hard to get parts and AC power but definitely worth it for phaser fans out there (Jimi Lee) ;) It's got this cool sweep, maybe cos of these actual lamp bulbs it uses.

I managed to score a cool lamp cover for the indicator which pulses in time with the sweep, it came from the scoreboard of a dart board!

Next up Lectric FX's Countdown. Straightforward build, I even manged to cram it into the suggested box  ;D

This is a really unique sounding phaser with almost flange tones, I'd definitely reccomend it to anyone looking for something different.

Finally, I wanted something for stereo effects so I built this 'rack' style duo-phase using the pedal pcb board. It's not as well featured as the deadend fx version but easier to build I bet. I wired it for stereo/mono outputs and series and paralell options, sounds great on pads

My other half asks if I've got 'enough of those now' but I've got my eye on Brain's Polytrog now  :D

thanks for looking!

that came out really well, looking forward to see how you get on with this etching technique next time;]

wow that looks great! very professional finish.

this looks really good Jimi!

did you do the artwork first and then drill for the LEDs?

thanks guys! Yeah I did the black by hand, was difficult to keep a steady line, I should probably cut down on the coffee ;]

The green LED is there to stop the pt2399 clipping I think...

haha, love the name and the story, I've had a build like this...

great stuff, I really like the OCD scarab design, symmetrical inside and out!
