General Questions / Keeley 4 knob Comp PCB?
September 23, 2014, 05:11:09 PM
I've heard amazing things about the Keeley 4knob comp... but I cant find a PCB, or a good adaptation of the Tonepad Ross PCB.
I did find the stripboard, but I've never had good luck with that stuff...
So has anyone got a PCB layout of the Ross 4 knob?

I love the Pork Barrel... and the chorus of the TC Electronics SCF... I like that its got a spooky voice to it. Almost like the pitch is dropped just slightly... if that makes any sense?
Are there any Pork Barrel mods to make the voice have that same eerie feeling?

Tech Help - Projects Page / Hi Gain Only Boneyard 1?
January 02, 2014, 06:04:38 AM
What parts would I mod or omit to end up with just a hi gain only Boneyard?
I built the full 3 switch version last year and love it, but I want to strip it down to a single stomp, and since I dont use the boost or crunch... I would THINK its pretty easy.

I want to say I saw a post for doing exactly this, but I was not able to find it this morning.

Thoughts?

Did you ever get this up and running?
Would love to hear your experiences.

General Questions / Re: Simple PCB Layout app for iOS?
November 09, 2012, 03:36:18 AM
What I found was just a search for circuit design and PCB in the app store.
I'm hoping that there are other apps out there that someone might have stumbled across, but due to poor product descriptions might not be appearing in my app store searches.

Does anyone know of a PCB layout tool for the iPad or iPhone? There aree several circuit analysis and design tools, but I've yet to find anything that does PCBs

Thanks

Mods / on-off-on switch in the Grapevine?
August 07, 2012, 05:12:35 PM
I'm building a Grapevine, but I've only got a couple of ON-OFF-ON toggle switches... is there anything I can do with them? Maybe a 3rd gain setting?

Thanks for the review! I was planning to do a few mini boards, but it seems Tayda does not carry 9mm pots (the little green guys). I can't find them. Am I just a fool?

I bought some the other day- I guess it depends which store you go to.   :)

Cool, I'll give it a go... thanks!

I just found a fistful of on on on dpdt toggles, and I dont know what to do with them as the majority of DIY pedals use on off on.
Can I use these in place of the on off on, or are there projects that use on on on ?

Suggestions?

Mods / Re: How to replace the caps Chunk Chunk

C1, C9, C6 all go to ground- put the negative (-) side of your electro caps in the ground and it will be fine.

There is a schematic pcb and vero layouts at FSB http://www.freestompboxes.org/viewtopic.php?f=7&t=14040&p=169693&hilit=+black+arts+pharaoh#p169693

They are very similar (I like pharaoh has more tone control). I started to compare the Mudbunny and Pharaoh to see if I could build one on the same board but got sidetracked by other projects.
Thanks for the heads up- I'm a fan of modified muffs. I might kill some of the switching, but I like the knob flexibility.

Mods / Re: More low end to Chunk Chunk

Hi, I just happened to build a chunk chunk as well and trying it out I was also missing some low end.

I just tried the mentioned mod and just wanted to tell that it works great !

I was using  the switch with the following values: (because thats what I had lying around  ;)) )
168n
33n
47n

I also think that you could lower it down to 22nF - but thats a matter of taste anyhow.
I was very impressed by the fact that if did not harm the overall sound of the pedal.

Now looking to put it in a nice enclosure.

Was it cap 11 (feeds 2 of the Bass pot lugs) or the above mentioned C12 (feeding the center lug of the Mid pot)
