For posterity (and in case I lose my notes):
I used 2N2222A transistors (different from the ones in the original gut shot).  They measured:
Q1 = 96
Q2 = 145
Q3 = 210
I like using google notes or sheets for an extra level of backup for my notes. Free and will "always" be there. Plus. I lose stuff a ton lol.

Question on an aion fx schematic about some labels and what they mean.

https://aionfx.com/app/files/docs/radian_documentation.pdf

It's for a rangemaster. VA, -VA and pwr_gnd.

I've googled it and VA came up with "A volt-ampere (VA) is a measurement of power in a direct current (DC) electrical circuit." I'm not sure how to translate that to english or eagle lol.

And power ground doesn't really return anything useful. Maybe ya'll would have some better answers for a newb?

Made one of these since I'm also not a giant fuzz fan. It's really nice. Thanks for the recommendation.

Everything works but the gain knob. Volume adjusts the volume, tone adjusts the tone, the gain pot does nothing.
Anyone have any ideas as to why?

Name of the circuit = TS8 (oh) 8
https://rullywow.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/07/TS8oh8-v2.pdf

No modifications to the circuit and no parts substitutions.

Q1
C = 8.43
B = 3.54
E =3.14

Q2
C= 8.43
B= 3.54
E= 3.14

IC1
1= 4.20
2= 4.20
3= 4.20
4= 0
5= 4.20
6= 4.22
7=4.20
8= 8.43

Nice! I got my first Gibson LP about a year ago. It's fabulous. It's just the tribute, but it's been my go to since I got it. Just feels right.

General Questions / Big muff clone no sound
October 07, 2020, 03:33:56 PM
Replaced R19 and I've got sound now. It's not very loud or fuzzy. I checked that the resistors in the output buffer that lead to 9v are getting it R20 and R21) and R19 and 22 are getting a good connection to ground. It looks like this stage is supposed to get the volume back but that doesn't seem to be the case. I did check that all resistors that should be getting 9v are. I guess I'll check the grounds next? Does that seem logical?

Edit: posted a video below. All knobs dimed.

Q4 is in there the right way. Replaced r22 last night. Transistor is socketed so I tried others and that's a no go. I'll try reflowing those pins, replace r21 and report back.

General Questions / Big muff clone no sound
October 06, 2020, 07:47:54 PM
I've been working on a big muff from diyguitarpedals.com.au and am not getting any sound. I've audio probed it and am getting sound to C12 to the base of Q4 but not c13. I've replaced c13 and have the same issue. I've reflowed solder as well around that whole section to no avail.
I don't get sound to any other pin than the base of Q4. Should I be getting sound to either of those pins?

General Questions / Queen of bone troubleshooting
September 30, 2020, 01:56:51 PM
Hey guys/gals,

Been pondering this all afternoon. Went home for a quick lunch. Decided I hadn't tried my QoB since I got my test box working and found that it works.
Sort of.

Only works with both foot switches engaged.
Any thoughts off the top of anyone's head why that would be? I didn't get a chance to do much in the way of troubleshooting. But thought if someone had a quick thought of where to start on that one it would be appreciated.
