Hey,

I bought the wiring from Mammoth Electronics.  Here's the link....

I've had really good success with them.

General Questions / Simple Electronics Question

Hey All,

I have finished a pedal and I used 'Super Bright' LEDS in it.  They are way too bright.  Is there a way to turn them down?  Can I change the value of the CLR?

Build Reports / Mysterio Sr. Build

Hey All,

I took the plunge and built this one up based on the Blackstone Appliances pedal.  I named it Graystone but maybe I should have named it 'The Spaghetti Factory'!  Sounds great and thanks to Brian for his help.

Tech Help - Projects Page / Sun King - Bizzare Voltages
January 24, 2011, 04:13:59 PM
Hey All,

I have finished up my Sun King.  I built it exactly per instructions. (Well, maybe not since it doesn't work).  I am getting some very strange voltages on the IC's

Pin      IC1 - TL072              IC1 - TL072               IC3-ICL7660SCPA
Measured   Expected   Measured   Expected      Measured   Expected[/b]
1   1.35           4.45      -3.66         4.52            8.54          8.88
2   1.35           4.47      0               4.47            4.29         4.55
3   0.958         3.43      0                4.46                0         0
4   0               0           -7.92       -8.46            -3.97       -4.15
5   0.25           4.45      0               4.45            -7.92       -8.47
6   0.325          4.46      0              4.46              3.56        3.99
7   7.94           4.45      3.68          4.41              4.15        5.33
8   8.56           8.88      15.14       16.03              8.53        8.88

Diodes and Ele caps seem to be oriented correctly.  Any suggestions?

Mods / Re: Taming the Volume - Aristocrat
January 19, 2011, 09:27:52 AM
Well, for one thing I have the pots wired backwards (terminals 1 and 3 are swapped). I guess that could cause the volume to jump early in the rotation... or very late in the rotation for yours.  But regardless, how do you get the unity volume more towards 12 o'clock?

Mods / Taming the Volume - Aristocrat
January 18, 2011, 11:37:19 AM
Hey All,

Just completed the Aristocrat V4.  Works great, sounds great no issues there.  My question is.... how can I tame the volume control.  For example, if the range of the control is from 8 o'clock to 4 o'clock, by the time it reaches 9 it is at unity volume compared to bypassed.  It has an incredible amount of volume which I just don't need.  I would like 12 o'clock to be my even point with lower being a cut and above being gain.  Is there a way to do this?

As always... thanks for everyone's help, this is a great forum.

I think I'll post this in the Mods section as well.

Hey All,

Where can I find the 100k Linear Dual-Ganged pot that is called out in the Sun King?  I need a small one, 16mm I guess.

So if I look at it... it seems to show three diodes going one way and one diode going the other.

The solder mask pretty much covers up the silk screen.  It's hard to tell.

Thanks!

Hey All,

I am nearly complete with my board.  I have come to the point where I need to solder in the quad of Diodes.  I want to be sure I have the polarity correct.  It is not so clear on the layout.  Can anyone help with this... close up photo or explanation?
