Does anyone else have the problem of the top silkscreen renderings not showing up when the .brd file loads?

My custom graphics sometimes don't show up darkly. All of the standard stuff shows up just fine for me, though.

It's basically just going to add more gain stages. At low voltages, preamp and power amp components essentially act the same (in terms of  headroom).

I did up a tube-to-JFET Valve Jr circuit (with power tube included). It sounds like an overdrive and gives pretty  much no clean at 9v. It's a little better in the low 20s, but still not much headroom.

What does "voltage portion" mean?

http://pedalgeeksunited.com/

Go check it out. BYOC user Bassman worked hard getting the site up and running, and put in place one HELL of a legal disclaimer and terms of service.

It's essentially a repository for all manner of schematics and layouts (and also wiring diagrams), with a focus on Eagle CAD files. But any file type is fine, so long as it relates to effects, amps, guitars, and the like. Uploaders can specify if they want the files used only for non-commercial purposes, or you can open it up to anything. Your choice.

It's not a forum, but some level of discussion can take place.

I've already uploaded some stuff, and madbean has as well (along with jimmybjj).

So go on over and sign up.   :)

Why couldn't this be implemented in to a leslie sim.

Yes. And the ramp up / down could be footswitchable.  :o

I've watched CJ's about 10 times and I can never remember cause its so quick.

That might be a good thing. I used the wrong too to draw the schematic the whole time, haha. Should be the Net tool and not the Wire tool. It works either way, but the Net tool automatically draws the junction dots (which saves time and avoids errors).

The trick here is to use a small PC fan like midway implied.

Yeah, I bet the fan will put out less noise than a full-on motor. And you could actually clip the blades off and use the velcro/disc set up.

The spinning light disc + PT2399 could make for a really cool EchoRec workalike.  :o

That's awesome. Come on, Brian, we need that as a new madbean project.  I think it would rule in a vibe circuit.

Man, that's a way-complicated way to make an LFO.  ;D

Nerdy nit pick: The guy says the LDR gives more resistance with more light, but it's actually the opposite.  :-X

do you need to have a schematic to be able to layout a PCB in eagle?

Yes

I recall a long time ago that I was able to draw just a PCB layout in Eagle. But I can't remember how I did it. I think I just drew the traces, but it's kinda hazy.

But yes, for all practical purposes, you need to have the schematic done first.

You need to use the net tool for making connections in the schematic.  Not the wire tool.

Josh

+1 i did the same thing when i first started :)

Ugh, me too. Hell, I didn't figure that out until a couple months ago.  :D

The learning curve on Eagle is stupid-high. Took me forever to get the hang of it. But, I do think the benefits of it outweigh the difficulties of learning it.

I like that I can make one layout and output for different production formats: etching or fabrication, one or two sides.

The ground fill thing is nice. And you can also make the fill be tied to any net you want, so it could be +9v, or VREF as well. And with two layers, you can do ground on the bottom and +9v on the top (which is what I do most of the time). Saves a ton of time in routing.

It's overkill for a 5-part fuzz, but even then it's nice.

I'm a fan as well. I like the upbeat weird-rock bands like them and also XTC.
