Something i'll use even when working on my workbench is i'll work on a few old cookie sheets with 1/2" /1cm sides. That way if i need the bench space for something, my project, tools, paraphernalia are contained on the cookie sheet and i can quickly clear the space set it aside do what i need, put the cookie sheet back on the bench and carry on with that project.

dave

This is a great idea! I may give this a try next time I Commandeer the kitchen table for temp building. I remember seeing some cheap cookie sheets at the 99 cent store by my house.

I use a couple of these and they work great. I use a hot air station directly on it also with out burns/melting.

During this madness I have put in 4-5 orders with Mouser. The FedEX shipping is ridiculous fast for me in California. Did one order with Arrow also.

That's what I figured, but I'm still practicing reading schematics so wanted to be sure. Appreciate it man!

Hey guys, just about finishing up my Grind Customs Fluff Girl, but I'm unsure on the switch. The build docs I have just list it as an SPDT, but no note about whether its an On-On or On-Off-On. Anyone know? Thanks in advance!

Looking at the schematic its just an On-On

Open Discussion / Re: What are you playing? (games)

Other then running through The Division 2 with Storyboardist, I hav ebeen play a lot of Halflife Alyx. I recently upgraded my Rift to a Rift S and love not having to setup 3 of the cameras for 360 tracking. I have had no issues with tracking with the Rift S as of yet. I also love the update the resolution and refresh. I noticed a huge difference with games like The Walking Dead Sinners and Saints and No Mans Sky in VR.

Halflife Alyx is not doing anything "new" to VR but what it does do is take a bunch of mechanics and physics that other games have tried to perfect and really polish it. It feels like a Valve game.. the dialog, the story and the world is fantastic. I am really taking my time with this game and hope it has a great payoff. I have avoided all spoilers up to this point. lol

Can you make a TAPLFO? I'm in need of one, I can't find the one I had before I moved.

Unfortunately I don't have the stuff on hand to make them anymore. I made a bunch a couple years back for people that were building the Twin Peaks. Sorry Jimi, if I run across one its yours.

Yep, that was the first thing I tried. For reasons that I don't understand at all, my PC does not recognize the file as a .hex. I'm saving it as ".hex".

The weird thing is that I am able to pull code from a TAPLFO using the GQ4x4, and my PC recognizes that file as a .hex.

See if this works for you:

I zipped it up for you.

I have had the best results with desoldering with adding fresh solder to the joints and use this solder sucker:

https://www.adafruit.com/product/1597

I have used it for over 2 years and it just works. The silicon tip is heat resistant so you can put your iron tip on the joint then the sucker on top to make a seal then press the button to.. well.. suck.

On his page https://electricdruid.net/electric-druid-chips-the-next-generation/

you will see the link:
http://www.electricdruid.net/code/STOMPLFO.HEX

Just right click on the link and choose "Save Link As..."

It will then download as a HEX file. I was able to download it and open it in MPLAB.
