Flying to Zurich on Saturday to catch the Psychedelic Porn Crumpets. Really just an excuse to get on the piss with my mate who lives near there, but I expect the gig to be good fun too.

Local library has a few of their albums on the way to me for more exploration...

Oh Sees use two drummers, King Crimson is using three.

Next up, who's using four?

Japanese noise rock group "Boredoms" has a fondness for using as many drummers as they can get to show up (including one performance with 77 of them)

They also seem to have a fondness for stuffing as many necks on a guitar as possible

I wanted to embed the video, but it isn't working for me  :P

Anyone with more than one drummer in the band is just being selfish.

You have to take the "s" out of the "https" at the start of the url, and use the full "youtube" rather than "youtu.be" link. The embed is picky about that

Took my son and nephew to the skatepark this morning.
Later a couple of teens turned up with skateboards and a speaker, and cranked it. I was expecting crap, but they put on this mix that had me tapping the Shazam app on my phone. We're talking sunday disco tunes.

Mostly doing research for a folk album of Irish and British songs whose stories survived crossing the Atlantic.

I had always assumed that only the tune to Matty Groves survived as Shady Grove -- assuming they remembered only the tune but none of the words. It turns out, though, that the tune commonly sung to Matty Groves now IS the American tune, not that the British tune is sung to the American lyrics. Fairport Convention used the American tune when they recorded their version. Maybe even slightly more interesting is that all the early commercial recordings of the song were American and not British.

Doc Watson's is the most interesting version to me. It's the same chords as Shady Grove, but a different tune that isn't exactly like the old tune or Shady Grove, and the lyrics have the story intact but they're pretty American. I'm not sure where he picked it up.

Hahaha! Agreed drummers are far to hard to come across for one band to have more than one.

this is one of my favorit band. Used to cover their song.

the left drummer, Mr Mutter, original member. He leave for skateboard and other band, because have contract. Then Mr Sandy in. When Mr Mutter want comeback, they can accomodate him without kicked Mr Sandy. Win-Win solution.

the soundtrack within the watchmen series ... when you're watching something you like AND you find yourself paying strict attention to the score. same thing I've appreciated about the player piano music in westworld
