I've built a fuzz face circuit using this layout from tagboard

http://tagboardeffects.blogspot.co.uk/2013/03/analogman-sunface-bc108.html?m=1

I ordered some bc108s and bc183ls to try out in it.  The bc108s sound fine and were really easy to bias at 4.5v.  The 183s however don't produce any sound and register approx 9v at the collector no matter where I turn the bias pot.  The bc108s q1 reads 1.3v and q2 is bang on 4.5.  I've tried 3 sets of bc108s which were all fine and 20 different bc183s and keep getting the same results of approx 9v at both collectors.

I'm really not sure what I'm doing wrong with the bc183l's.

I believe they have different pinouts so that could be the problem.

It's ok ignore the idiot who can't read.  I was lazy and googled bc183 pinout instead of reading the data sheet on the site I ordered them from.  The google image I saw has the wrong info so I was plugging them in incorrectly.  They'll working just fine now as you were people :-)
