My 2nd mandroid build is having some issues.
There's no real sustain happening along with having to play pretty hard for it to pickup the signal. Which I assume why there isn't much sustain either.
Any thoughts?

Pictures and voltages.  Is it boxed or raw?  I knackered my first go round by boxing it without leaving enough height on the pots.  A lot of variables on this one.

How loud is too loud?  What?

Even when it is working correctly, it is a pretty finicky circuit to get sounding nice (the chip was never meant for guitar). For my taste, the best sounds are happening when you turn the internal gain to max, or (and that's my favorite now) turn it to min and put a fuzz in front of it. Mix in some of the 'dry' sound. That will give smooth volume and sustain, but this is still a very lo-fi shifter (which is cool in its own right). Or ... you might have a bug in your build ...

I compared it to my other one and realized I was mistaken and it was just how it was. They both sound great, I just have to have the level set to max for it to equal bypass volume, but I think it will work fine.

Thanks for the insight guys. I really do appreciate it.
