I was just looking at this and working out what I need to order to build it.  Thanks Alex  ;D

A resistor that runs parallel to the traces! Blasphemy!!

I've been interested in this one for a while.

Looks cool. I might give it a shot. Any reason it would be a bad idea to move the diodes and tone caps all to the rotary switches and save a bit of wire?

Nice. Never really been a fan of the tube screamer but I love doing Vero. Maybe it fees more diy than PCB or I like challenge with all the off board wiring but I'm gonna have to try this.

Recently built the systech overdrive from the tagboards site. Sweet pedal.

You guys deserve a lot for all you do with that site. If you're ever in Paris, I owe you numerous beers.

cool stuff. Sounds very interesting. Do you have a schematic you could share (pm/email)? I'm interested in how they changed the circuit and how true it is to the 808

The clipping changes and the switching input buffer make this interesting to me. I almost bought a used one early this year but passed it up.

is it possible that the leftmost MPSA18 is put in the wrong way (180° flipped). 9V should go to the collector right?

There are some comments about that on the FSB forum.

A BJT can also be operated in inverse order, but the diffrence is that the gain is significantly lower than in normal order.
I ran a simualtion of the buffer circuit and found the stage gains as follows.

Normal mode: 0.987
Inverse mode: 0.522

I suppose that was an intentional circuit design decision on the developer.

In that case the "Input Boost" is switched off if the circuit is active.

Quotewith the mpsa18 operating in inverse order the input signal-level is equal to the output, so you don't have differences in volume when you flip the buffer switch.

Not 100% sure yet.. I'm sure someone can correct this if its wrong around here. I'm also reading up on BJT to see if I can wrap my head around it.

I was wondering because the TS808 had it put in "regular" with 9V to the collector

That confused me a good bit too when I first saw it. If/when I get around to building it I'm just gonna use a socket and see what the difference is between backwards (E to 9V) and normal (C to 9V).

Here's an perf/etch layout to throw in the mix.

I might do that too. I just finished and ordered a set of pcbs. It has some extra tricks up the sleeves, so I'm eager to build it.

sorry for the huge pic. Just copied the link from oshpark and didn't bother shrinking it down

That looks epic Felix what else did you add?

m-Kresol

it fits in a 1590bb, has onboard optical bypass for OD and boost and the internal DIP5 mode switches lets you select if OD is the master bypass or if it's acting as two stand-alone units. I indicated that next to the DIP switch. I ordered 10 boards from elecrow (was still cheaper than 3 from OSH), so once verified, I'll have some to spare.
