Triumvirate

Built up the Triumvirate distortion over the weekend, and fired right up. This thing is loud. I like the idea of being able to emphasize both volume and gain of each band, and I got a good sound with all 57  :)  internal trims in the middle. It went straight on my board for a gig tomorrow night, but I'm curious to tweak and see what else is revealed.  Built in a 1590BS with bottom mounted jacks (to sit on the top row of my board).

Do the treble mod as indicated in the build doc—it has way too much as is, and was squealing a bit while testing—cleared up once I boxed it up. Well worth building if you own stock in Bournes!

Is that a candy red finish?

Bottom mounted jacks? You maniac!

Looks good. Glad you did the treble mod.

It's that or use ludicrously long cables to connect to the looper!

Hmmm, that's a really cool idea for a board with a controller!

I'm just finishing up my tri now. First time I've had to buy trimmers by the skid...

How loud is too loud?  What?

That stomp switch looks different....
Is it just the angle and lighting, or is there a cap on it?  A dress nut too?

Bog standard, just the lighting I guess.

The bottom mounted jacks are a really cool idea. If I had a looper I'd definitely be stealing that idea from you.

How did you frequency bias the trimpots?

I set everything in the middle just to fire it up to use on a gig. The great thing about adjusting the gain and volume individually for each band is that you can dial out anything that doesn't work for you. I'm pretty much Captain Midrange when it comes to overdrive and distortion, so it didn't matter where the treble was set, and I still got a sound I was happy with. I plan on doing some trimmer tweaking this weekend to see what happens.

Is there anyway we can bias the 8 trimpots to the stock Triumvirate?

I am aiming for these

LOW,LOW MID = 290Hz. HIGH MID=1.6kHz and HIGH=1.35 kHz

Also how to bias the PRE and CUT?
