I could not miss LINE2AMP online as all links lead to the fellow. He has a nice kit for $50 US.  I found another article that uses an inductor and resistor type of setup that has switchable pickup emulation.

I think it is great they both offer you a kit and they open source their project should you want to do it completely yourself

The enclosure is nice but not sure what transformer he offers. There's one that is around 10 bucks but the freq response only goes down to 300Hz. Then there's the Jenson but that is around 90 bucks and that is rated 20Hz to 20KHz..

Dilemma much?

Looks like their L2A kit is the way to go. Easy Peasy.
