Collosalus (2015) Calibration with O-Scope and Frequency Counter?

Hi All,

I recently put together some of the advice I got on the forum into method to calibrate the Current Lover (2015) with a frequency counter or an o-scope:

I'd like to do the same thing with the Collosalus.  Will the procedure be the same?  Should the clock frequency be set to 70kHz?  Any help would be greatly appreciated.

IIRC the original sweeps from about 50kHz - 800khZ/1MHz, I don't think the factory set up procedure is floating around but i'd set the width & manual CCW and adjust the clock trim for 50kHZ, you can always bump it up if you find things get a bit too 'sproingy' at longer delays.

Several years ago, I was able to get someone on another forum to measure the clock(s) on a few M117 pedals. On all of them, the Min frequency was between 29-32MHz.

Sorry.. no maximum range but, I would guess it is about 450-600MHz.

So, as Scruffie said, with the MN3007 you will want to double those. (58-64MHz and 900-1200MHz)

In this case, you don't, the two halves are in series on the SAD1024 so it's 1024 stages in both cases.

30kHz seems awfully low...

Edit: Found the thread you referred, is indeed 30kHz you're right, but people mention preferring it higher.

Thanks for the input!  I will give it a go and report back.

I had planned to have this boxed by the weekend, but just realized I'm short a transistor.  So, I'll have to wait a week or so.

Hope u sort it. Its a great pedal
The thing with the collosalus that i dont get is that it uses an LM7815 TO-22 reg, now I've not actually measured the current draw but it seems excessive to me. The TO-92 package regs can handle up to 100mA. Why was it chosen?

I know the old Mistress had a current draw of like 150mA, so I'd suspect this thing is in a similar ball park.
