Whaaat? $470 shipped for a Gibson USA model. How could this be? Who's heard of these?

Here is the orange one for even cheaper

I don't understand why it says can't ship to USA, didn't they get it from there. I thought thomann was even a drop shipper so that would make even less sense.

Edit: Looks like there is/was a whole line of these... The S Series. How did I miss that?

It says "Delivery to United States is not possible at the moment due to CITES. "

So it's got to be related to the woods it's made from. Probably the rosewood fretboard.

Made in the USA, can't ship to the USA. Da fuq

I found this review:
"I've heard these things are absolutely terrible. You'd be much better off buying an Epiphone. All you're paying for here is the Gibson prestige."
The very low price (typical is $600 for these) and the oddball shipping restrictions all scream of some kind of scam (undisclosed B-stock most likely?)
Yep. I clicked the, "continue without supporting us" link....

Methinks the color is reason enough for that incredibly low price. Man does it hurt the eyes.

CITIES is a PITA for resellers.  I'm guessing it *could* be shipped to the US, but Thomann doesn't want to deal with the paperwork.

But that's just a guess.
