What j201 sub works well in this circuit?

Thinking about using the adapter board but... I'm curious if there are any tried&true alternatives for this particular circuit or just boosts in general?

I think the smd version and that mini pcb are the only one solution we have got. The J201 we used often until a few years ago are difficult to find. I never used the smd because I still have about three pieces in my stock, but soon I'll have to use the J201 smd.
I'm pretty sure that's ok and more accurate than the old (it's already vintage?) one. ;)

Waiting for further opinions.

I'm an SMD convert when it comes to transistors these days..... mostly out of necessity, admittedly.

I use this particular board: https://oshpark.com/shared_projects/7TAIpS4u

You get 27 of them in a batch, and the clipped corners make them a little smaller than other options. A wee bit bigger than a to-92 transistor, but not too tricky to fit on most boards.

Awesome, Thanks. Those look better... I like that they will handle both types since they are double sided.

Well, shoot... Mouser is out of the smd MMBFJ201 and won't have any till Feb. I may have to suck it up and get a couple of the through-hole Interfet 106-J201 @ $3.50 a pop.

They are expensive... Anybody ever have any issues with those?

At that price id say go through small bear or something,  though I suppose it comes down to what shipping is like.

Smallbear is out of the through hole. It's the separate shipping cost that kills.
