Sharkfin alternative

I'd like to build a Sample Filter Hold Pedal, and i've tried the Tonepad FSH1 PCB, but i was not really satisfied with my build.
Now i see the Sharkfin PCB is no more available, is there a reason for it?, and does someone know a good alternative? sry for my rusty english btw. :)

Pedalpcb has a really nice digital s/h eeprom patch on their custom programs. It sounds great, has no set up or finicky calibration.

thanks to all of you for the recommendations, this eeprombuilder thing looks interesting, i 'm not a huge fan of digital pedals, but i guess in case of the S/H, it will be a good thing to get rid of that oscillation noise often happens on this analog curcuit.

I was never quite satisfied with our version, I should not have used multiturn trimmers because dialling it in is a bitch, also I think that there was some mention of an error with one of the transistors from the original tracing that has been perpetuated down the years including in our design.  The S&H works but it's a little lacklustre and the autowah is nowhere near as good as something like the frostwave funk-a-duck or the Meatball.

I built an older Sharkfin I had around and it sure is a fun and interesting circuit. But I can totally see why multi-turns would be a pain in that context!

I like the Sharkfin a lot more than the Tonepad board.  The 4pdt gets rid of the bypassed background noise.  I had to troubleshoot the board for ages though and it sat in my box of fail for a while.  When I solder in 8pin sockets I usually hit pins 1 and 5 and then make sure I have it seated on the board properly.  How can you stare at a board for hours and not realize that you forgot to solder the other pins?

I think it was the first time I'd considered that age may be taking it's toll after all...

It's a temperamental circuit and I don't think there's much demand for S&H circuits, which is probably why it got discontinued. I bought one and am tweaking the circuit (asked about the build doc and Q4 tweaks in another thread).

I've been out of the DIY scene for a bit and my options were to buy a Sharkfin second hand or look at clones on Reverb/Ebay

Sounds good and pretty much just the same as my build. Do you get ticking in bypass when you're in S/H mode? That's pretty much the only issue I've had.

trying not to hijack op's thread, just trying to show what to expect
no it's clean on bypass. just noisy, has a bit of a volume drop when engaged. the S&H seems to mostly stick to like the sub bass range--I think it's because the transistor in Q4 has lower gain than a 2N5088
