I've got a customer who needs holes drilled out for standoffs.  I have never used any of them, nor do I have any of them here to eyeball.  Oddly enough it's something that has never come up before for me.

Anybody got a drill bit size suggestion for me?

thanks a bunch in advance

Keefe, it really depends on the standoff they are using.  Are they using one with screws or one that snaps in?

The last ones I used had 4-40 screw thread, so the hole in the circuit board would be just a bit larger than that.

Thanks Dave.

I think these may be the plastic snap on stand offs, like the ones smallbear sells. Anyway I can't get in touch with the guy right now so I have no way of knowing, and it is a rush order he wants mailed tomorrow.  I guess it would be better to leave them undrilled than to drill them too large but I was hoping someone here might have the info.

Qualified guess: 4mm.
