Title: Capacitors Polarity...

Hi,

I was wondering if i can use a polarized Cap instead of a non polarized one in the Slambox ?
If yes, in which sens ? Does the polarity still matters or not ?
When I bought my coponents I didn't pay attention to the non-polarity of the C1 (100nF)...

I know that's not a big question but i didn't find any thing about it and I'm in somewhat a very big noob in electronics, the Slambox is my first build.

yes, as long as you're absolutely sure the values are the same--units and all. The physical size of the cap might limit you but if it'll fit on the board, it'll work  ;)

So that means that I can put the capacitor in any polarity ?
The value requested on the schematic is 100nF and I use 0.1uF... I think that's the same

positive side of the electrolytic goes to the side of the higher voltage, iirc.

Hum, higher voltage ok but on the schematic the capacitor is between the input and a nut...

What kind of capacitor do you have? I've not heard of polarized 100nF caps before. Are you sure you have the right value?

At that point in the circuit, the capacitor is acting as a decoupler from the input to keep DC from interfering. I think the - would go towards the input.

So to be sure, that would make : Input .... [(-)Caps(+)]..... the nut

Not sure what you mean by nut. There's no nut in the circuit.
