Title: Non-Boost version of DeadRinger
Post by: rsfilms on November 18, 2010, 04:22:26 AM
I love the overdrive of the original, but I found the boost was not very usable.

Thanks

Build a tubescreamer and use the deadringer part values as 'inspiration'. I don't think it's a direct translation persay, but a basic tubescreamer with some part modifications is pretty much the right circuit. Have you considered trying to learn perf or stripboarding? I suck at it but you might be better.

After taking a quick look at the schematic it looks like the boost part only has 3 resistors, the boost pot, and a cap - which along with the boost switch itself would be easy enough to just leave out of the build, and probably what I'll do.
