Channel switching without pulldown resistor?

Hi folks. I am designing something and came up with a general question i think...

If i - i my dirtbox - want to alternate between two sets of gain/OD stages with a footswitch (read: channel switching), how shall i design it when it comes to pulldown resistors/grounding of the unused channel?

I checked the Double D http://runoffgroove.com/doubled.html, which use a DPDT-switch. But the Double D has a natural pulldown via the gain- and volume-pots on both in- and output of the stages. That makes the switching safe, right. On my design, the unused channel will be floating (both in- and output) if i dont take care of it in some way.

So; I guess i have to include some kind of grounding in the switching design? Can i do this in some clever way with just a DPDT-switch?
