Title: Mangler with 1k instead of 470R
Post by: mcallisterra on July 18, 2014, 04:35:55 PM
I haven't built my Mangler yet, but from what I've read about Fuzz Faces, they don't give much of a volume boost (if any) stock. Using this live, I'd like it to 'poke out' a bit more when engaged, so I read on the forum here you can change the 470R for a 1K. Does this change the 'feel' of the pedal, like when you roll the guitar volume off to clean it up? Or is it exactly the same just a bit louder when dimed?

Thanks!  :)

It very slightly affects the midrange, but otherwise it's almost exactly like turning up a volume knob. You will have to adjust the bias slightly to compensate as well.

Does it give it more or less midrange? Not a problem with the bias as I haven't even put it together yet.  :)
