Adrian Belew and James Usher (Edison Glass).  Both are brilliant and creative.
Not too bright....

Couldn't agree more with Edison Glass. "time is fiction" is one of my all time favorite records.

I'd say Doug Martsch and Neil Young but I'm afraid that might be inbreeding...
Too hard to choose...so it's DM + (Jimi Hendrix/Nels Cline/Lee Ranaldo/J Mascis/Derek Trucks/Duane Allman/Jack Pearson/George Harrison)

And maybe Robert Randolph  :o

Wait for Doug's solo at 2:28:

Mike Campbell, Keith Richards, and if I can break the rules and add a third Brad Paisley.

Speaking of Belew, ran across this Talking Heads concert over the weekend... Belew GOES OFF, my favorite are these two songs: (embedding blocked)

Here's a 5 (or so) part video from the early '80s where Belew geeks hardcore on his effects. Very cool. Does his use of the violin/volume swell effect predate eric johnson?

Mark Knopfler and Clapton, or Derek Trucks and Jeff Beck :o

cjkbug

I got blisters on my fingers!!!

jball85

actually Jeff Beck and Tom Morello would be a much better fit than Derek Trucks.

Warren Haynes and Jerry Cantrell. Between the SLO and the Bogner, it's heavy awesomeness. :D

OR

David Gilmour and Marty Friedman. Can you say "Phrygian Side of the Moon"?    ;D
