The compression is not as "aggressive" as I anticipated if that makes sense.  I find it more subtle.  I'm not really a compressor user to begin with so it's a little hard for me to make an adequate comparison.

+1 if you look around on other forums you will find alot of these type of threads "is this thing even working?"

Very clean!  I wish I could get my wiring that clean!  That looks pro.

I built a GGG Orange Squeezer a few years back.  They're a bit difficult to dial in, IMO.  Once you dial it in, there's a fair amount of squish.  Sounds like the intro guitar part to Steely Dan's "Hey Nineteen," or even Mark Knopfler-ish.
