The Fall Contest is a thing. It will start up soon. It is being sponsored by a person who is offering a terrific first place prize. Other people will also be sponsoring prizes. I do not know the exact date it will start or end, but it will start "soon". "Soon" is the word I use when I do not know something. Basically, the answer to all questions regarding "when will 'x' happen" is "soon...probably". For instance, "when will the sun let out the Big One, thereby throwing the world into a unstoppable chaos of collapsed economies and food shortages?"; Soon, but probably not today. Unlike the Fall Contest, the Big One will have no prizes at the end unless you like cannibalism. In that case, both events are equally good for you. Maybe not for the other guy, though.
Also, it's been quite a while we've had any little swag here. This is also a thing that will be here in a couple of weeks for cheaps.
Is this pick cryogenically treated like the last one or was that not cost effective?
Better get working on a pedal!

Sadly, it proved to be cost prohibitive this time. However, I will place each pick on a part of my body for 15 seconds before shipping.

Great! It'll be much more fun cloning humans than pedals.
Hmmm, these may or may not be good for the "taste test" i do on my guitar pics...

And thus the canibalism of the first post has come full circle.
This thread has already given me many laughs, and we're still on page 1.
If you need a judge.... I got a little experience on both sides of the fence ;D
Also, if you need prizes... I might be able to help too!! :o
Thanks Greg, but we're all set.
Everyone is welcome to enter though! Details will be up this week.

Well played. And gross. I'm really going to have to remember not to put madbean picks in my mouth, though it can't be worse than that one time I chewed on a mystery pick found in a guitar case from a pawn shop. I still have a hard time remembering Thursdays from that incident.

Not a wise move.
Many years ago, I bought a Martin from a pawn shop. The case was covered in grateful dead stickers and the inside smelled like a mix of pot and my Grandma's musty basement. The bridge was cracked and it looked like it was glued back on with fudge.
Needless to say, the picks that came in the case were never put in my mouth.
That's all right, I got a Yamaha Ty Tabor that smelled like cat piss. From eight feet away. I have a very poor nose, but I walked downstairs, took one whiff after it had been sitting there for an hour, and immediately determined it would never rise above the status of "Garage guitar".

Don't be too jelly, it needs a completely new wiring harness (which wouldn't be so bad except that a standard Oak Grigbsy won't fit because of the body depth and it's routed for 16 mm pots), the JB might be pooched, it needs a complete fret dressing. Did I mention it was sold to me in "Excellent Condition". Currently debating the merits of filing a PP claim against the seller.
If you are within the PP claim period, I absolutely would. I don't consider trashed wiring, damaged pickup and smells of cat to be excellent condition.
Dude's already offered to take a return on it, but he expects me to pay the shipping. That plus the $47 in brokerage fees from UPS means if I do return it, I'll be out $120 because he lied. Time to test the new PP return policy I guess.

Don't worry about these things so much. What you have to remember is that most of this is put on by volunteer effort, and based on our available time. For future reference, because you tend to ask often, assume that there will be a contest, and that asking about one won't necessarily make one happen on your time schedule.
We got this dude. You don't need to worry so much. If there is a contest, that's awesome. If there isn't, don't worry... about a thing. 'Cause every little thing, is gonna be alright.

Reading some of these puns, I'm not so sure. ;)

A lot of the Rasta names really make me smile. A Rose by any other name Mike not smell as sweet.
Well, we've got some good selecta's, so this is going dub be good!
I'm sure a lot of the builds were tuff gong but they eventually got going.
I think this thread went off a Cliff a long time ago.
If you are wondering what to enter into the contest, you could always reefer to previous contests to see the results. Some contests even had a 2 way spliff for certain prizes.
Bring on the competition I mean the Harder they Come...
U've all Been using names that have 40 years at least and I can't help falling in love with it. I'm Signing Off right know, can't compete with that.

Well you know You Can Get It If You Really Want
We'll I'm looking forward to seeing who will Stir It Up in the contest this year.
Need to spend less time messaging, and Get Up, Stand Up and Jammin a build.
It going to be Armagideon Time this time around!
Cody
I heard there were going to be Police in Helicopter and they were going to be bringing the Guns of Navarone.
Richard
Ernestly, I'd like I if I could be Ranglin a prize from the winner Selecter panel. I get the feeling the English will Beat the Slackers, the Hepcats, and the Scofflaws who all post their dubmissions Right on Time.
I just inspiration for a nice build that would be cool to enter in a contest...Not that I'm gonna win with it, but it's the idea...So, waiting for the details :)
