Nope, it made no difference in the DBD I did.

That's great. I suppose it only alters output impedance then

Does putting that resistor affect audio quality? (less highs, less volume, etc.)

Hi!

I want to restock my Panasonic ECQ capacitor drawers. I'm aware that they are now discontinued but I hope they are still available somewhere as New Old Stock.

Looks like ECQ-V aren't that hard to find (values 100N and up) but I'm having hard time finding lower values (ECQ-B?). The two values I need are 390pf and 820pf.

Do you guys know where I can get these low value Panasonic caps?

Many thanks!

Open Discussion / Wampler Tumnus gut shots?
February 13, 2017, 11:35:47 AM
Hi guys,
Can't find any gut shots of the Wampler Tumnus. I'm curious. Is it all SMT? What diodes are in? Is it really a part-for-part Klone?

Some say it's bassier than a Klon. Is this true?

Open Discussion / 1590A Klone boards?
September 20, 2016, 08:46:32 AM
Hi guys,
I want to build a couple 1590A Klones for my gigging pedalboard. Looks like Apis boards are not available anymore, and I haven't found anybody selling them on the sell/trade threads.
I'm not aware of any other klon 1590A pcb maker/seller.

Any idea guys, other than fab my own board? Thank you!

Thank you guys!!! Sorry for the delay (family issues, unfortunately)

Bill used a 2M pulldown resistor in the KTR. To avoid altering the input impedance, he increased the 1M to 2M. So you get the same thing whether it's set to Almost Always Better or Almost Always Worse.

Hey Manticorefx, you knowing all about Klons as always! Thanks. IIRC you have traced the KTR, can you say if it has the same schematic as the "Glutton for Punishment" Sunking version? (I mean, R26/R27 out, R3 lowered to 47K, etc)

I'm getting switch popping on my BF/TB Klon builds and I'm curious if the KTR is built that way/does the same. On clean amp settings I can't hear it, but on distorted amp and Reverb at full, there's a loud pop that my other buffered klones don't have.

Hi all,

Just a question. By adding the 2M2 pulldown resistor on the TrueBypass/Buffered mod on the SunkingII, aren't we changing the input impedance? If so, how does this affect to the overall circuit?

And last, by leaving R21 and R22 out (sunking), are we changing output impedance?

Thanks!

Mods / Re: Kingslayer Variable Bass mod

Useful mod but, correct me if I'm wrong, that with a 100k pot there will always be some signal bleed to the other cap even when pot is fully on one side.

So when you have the pot on "stock side" the 100n cap would have some signal thru it.

This can be solved by either replacing the pot with a 500k or lowering the 68n value

Talking about independence. Did you see what catalans did last thusday? It was impressive!!

Too bad the Spanish government is banning their right to vote.
