I think that we all have our 'stompbox library'.. for me it'a dirty combination of links, files on my hard disc and evernote webclips.

Lately i've been thinking about putting it all together in a structured list of all the building blocs found in usual stompboxes, with associated documentation.

I was thinking of a mindmap format, or the more usual wiki format but i had a tree-like structure in mind

so in gain stages, you would have
- transistors
-op amp
- jfet
- cmos
technologies

and in transistor something like :
- SHO gain stage
- fuzz face type
- big muff type

with a diagram, some explanations of what parts do what and some associated maths.

i think that if that was supported by the community with people contributing, documenting all the theories behind all building blocs with some specificities linked to some circuits, ... that could be a really powerful too in the end for analyzing/developping new circuits.

What do you think? good idea? has it been done? not interesting?

Anything that makes it easier to people to learn (and teach) is a good idea in my book. Certainly couldn't hurt!
