I am trying to put a buffer into my eb jr volume pedal. I put the volume pot between the buffer out and the out jack, and the previously tested circuit isn't working any more.

For this to work right I should wire the buffer out to lug 1 of the pot and the tip of the out jack to lug 3,right?

A volume pot is usually wired

in -> lug 3
out -> lug 2
ground -> lug 1

The VP junior could be wired differently, especially on the in and ground connections be reversed to make the rotation work right for the sweep from heel-to-toe but I don't have a schematic of it to check. But, the wiper will almost certainly be the middle lug.

Figured it out using my brain and a multimeter. Lug 3 to buffer out lug 2 to output tip.
