Hi guys, I'm struggling to find some 5kC pots. I'm thinking 5kBs would be ok as alternatives. Does anyone have any opinons on this? Would the linears be ok, or should I really try and get the reverse audios?

Any thoughts gratefully appreciated!
Cheers!

The linear pots will work, but the 'useful' part of the volume will be all bunched together in one part of the travel.

I'd recommend musikding for the pots. Their shipping price to the UK is pretty good.
if you have the board that takes the little 9mm pots, they're here:

maybe take a a 10kC and put a resistor across lugs 1 and 3?

For what it's worth, I got the 9mm 5kC pots for this build from Mouser.

if you don't mind one knob being "backwards", you can always use a A-taper pot wired in reverse.

you can also try soldering resistors to the pots to change the taper. this site can help figure out what resistors to use if you play around with it for a while: http://www.diystompboxes.com/analogalchemy/emh/emh.html

Thanks for all the tips - I'll look at musikding for the right pot. It's gotta be done!

Thanks,
