Next time you are prepared to put an icepick through your temple because you are watching a Hallmark Channel movie with your mate, remember, society made you feel that way.

No, its usually the plot, direction, writing, and acting that takes care of that. I have no problem with cheesey detective stories, even the occasional rom-com, but Hallmark channel movies are just BAD.

Like, yes, lets have Melissa Joan Hart Kidnap Mario Lopez and play if for romantic comedy. Yep. Man held against his will and forced to play a role, and its played as cute. Yep.   :-X (I may have been forced to watch a few too many of this channels xmas trash heap over the holidays at my Parents place)

Open Discussion / Re: yet ANOTHER eBay story!!!

I have not bid on an item in 10 years.  Only BIN.

Ebay and paypal have both been very professional in the rare instance I have dealt with them.  I do not believe for an instant ebay is willing to let you get snookered, ever.  The whole process is geared to favor the buyer over the seller.  Think about how ratings and feedback are pro-buyer the last few years.  Ebay and paypal both have great US customer service, and this is a fair example.

I know there are predatory businesses out there, and I have worked for a couple of evil corporations.  Ebay's present business model is committed to keeping the buyer happy and returning.  It is so one-sided in favor of buyers, I really hesitate to sell.  I have a big box of items I need to sell, but buyers gaming the system always stops me.

I am glad the situation was simplified by ebay being straightforward and protecting you.

Low participation rates by a gender usually indicate a subtle or overt culture of exclusion.

This is basically what I had planned to post earlier today. Women generally don't build pedals because we have a culture and  history that discourages them from engaging in that sort of activity, either professionally or as a hobby. It's not because somebody has "Bitches" in the name of their company. That's a symptom, not a cause.

I cut cable four years ago and we have lived on internet, hulu, and netflix.  I am very happy with the results.  I expect to get a bend-over notification with the net neutrality rollback.  A real robber baron move on the Republicans' part.  Cable-cutters are about to find their/our heads conveniently laid on a corporate platter.

Full Moon Fever still resonates strongly to me.  Simple licks. Cowboy chords and brilliance sprinkled liberally.

Great quick read

I have never seen one in That great condition.  Very jealous.
That would have asking price of $600 on my worthless local Craigslist.  In 10 years, I have never found any musical item for a reasonable price within 3 hours on C-list.

I played in a band with a guy who had one.  It was lovely.  I was always asking to borrow that.  I only had a Boss CE-300rack unit.  ;) so I wasn't hurting for great chorus, but the dimension was amazing.

Open Discussion / New Ebay Store
June 30, 2017, 05:33:39 PM
I found a new seller on ebay for us bottom dwellers.  I thought you guys might be jonesing for $30 strat and tele necks or $90 headless steinberger or Flying V DIY kits.  Violin bass kit for $111.  Left handed necks for backwards people!  and one of those pocket guitar chord trainers for $12 (this one might actually be good).  Do stay away from the joyo-rebadged-a-million-times power supply.  7 of the 9v outlets share 100mA.  That seems weak to me.

I am actually tempted by the headless guitar kit.
Enjoy

No, Forrest, these men are nihilists. There's nothing to be afraid of.
